Samon34,
We are waiting, till LTTE's new attack on school children.
So, next JVP attack will be on the school children.I thought the next attack will be in a large gathering where they could kill thousands and put the blame on the LTTE,like what they did the other day at Kepitigollawa, where they manage to kill only 64 innocent civilions and immediately notified the IC and started to bommb the civilians in N&E.
Killing thousands of sinhalese by JVP is nothing for them. They have killed hundreds of thousands of sinhales in the past. They have bombed Thalatha Maligawa and killed buddhist priests. They would kill any number of sinhalese as long as the killings puts them into power they don't mind that. |

Yes, I have several projects going. One is supporting kids. Tsunami was an eye opener. I know the situation in Batti at least.
In fact, very soon I plan to join this forum from Colombo. No, I am not a very rich person materially but I am okay.
My basic thought is top fighters do not necessarily make good politicians. I think it is showing up slowly but surely.
Bye for now. |

Tigress,
the charge against the ltte pressed by gosl was rejected by ltte long time ago
Ltte never admit any crime they committed so this is nothing new or surprising. Every anti-terrorist element knows what LTTE do and their strategy. |

HELLO GUYS... I AM A NEWIE HERE..FROM SYDNEY AUSTRALIA.....
I am quite puzzled....
I do without doubt think any form of Terrorism or violence is unacceptable... and actions of LTTE is quite unacceptable...How ever what about the Sri Lankan forces??? How could a ordinary Tamil Civilians Trust them??? In recent months they have been hacking , shooting and killing children , women and old. Now when LTTE does we know they are a Terrorist group..so what do we call the Sri Lankan Forces??? PATRIOTIC?? RACIST?? ORGANIZED CRIME GANGS? STATE SPONSORED TERRORIST?? I am not sure... These are the very people should win the Hearts of the Tamils and have a upper hand on this war....Very sad to see they have failed as usual...

Kamini,
I agree and understand your feelings! Unfortunately i did not see that picture but the difference is you will never see the Tamil mothers holding Tamil small kids who were killed by random bombing ( so called Revenge Mission by the SL forces) that is the way of life in war torn areas.
UR not standing alone as a Mother or a parent of a Child. I am sure most of us are good parents and we want the best for our kids.
May be your too young even to remember what everyone witnessed in 1983. if you get a chance check those pictures. You keep on mentioning a few incidents and killings but all those incidents are about Sinhalese kids and sinhalese civilians killed. I do not see that you mean Tamil kids from any of your posting |

Daniel,
Those are simply Revenge Missions!
It is similar to what happaned to Tamils in 1983 when 13 soldiers were killed in Jaffna by LTTE. Just hatred and revenge.(pls understand not all sinhalese were involved, there were sinhalese who actually helped Tamils as well)
We can talk about this all day but we need to find a solution and the best way to do is TRUST and understand each other and TALK. |

Yes, I agree with the SLMM with the point they are making that the LTTE should not recruit child soldiers. This is a very serious crime. The SLMM should do a lot, lot ,lot more to eradicate this practise. The SLMM is in a very good position, as international peace monitors to do something about this but does nothing.
I also agree that if the govt. agreed to try to stop the counter violence by karuna forces, at least they should try to do this to the best of their ability. If the govt. promised something, they must do it.
However, at the same time, the SLMM must insist that there should be multi-party democracy in the NE. Even the European Union, let alone many other countries have accepted that the LTTE is not the sole representatives of the tamil people. There is no point the LTTE shouting from the rooftops to disarm paramilitaries when they kill their opponents at the drop of a hat, especially those who have given up the gun like PLOTE, EPRLF, tamil politicians, and others have been killed! This is totally wrong.
The LTTE even threatned to kill Prof. Hoole and guess what, he left this mad country! Edited By - forest - 18 Jun 2006 13:46:10 GMT |

Berty,
Please don't take it wrong. I have seen pitures of those killeng innocent tamil kids too. But Berty its very difficult to understand whether the SLA could do it intentionally unlike the LTTE terrorists. Because I know there is a deliberate blame game going on for the army by the terrorists in the NE and it would be very wrong to assume that all those innocent tamil kids were slaughtered by the army.
I am against war but if the LTTE continues to kill innocent people I think the GOSL has no option than to declare full scale war.
I have seen few pictures of 1983 as I was just a year old girl then so you are right I don't know much about it. But I condemn that as we Sinhalese are not terrorists and that was the UNP instigated backlash for which the Tamils still talk about. But since then how many innocent people were killed by the LTTE terrorists including Buddhist monks for which no one can appease. |
