Websurfer,
Yes, that is what I am saying, the primary focus of the govt. and the vision of the govt should be the future development of the country. This is, I am sure, what all sri-lankans want.

Of course, the SLA etc. should defend itself if attacked by LTTE 'maddos'. Also, the door should always be open for a peaceful resolution of this crisis with IC/Co-chairs help. That is why we are in a peace process, after all.

But like I said, the primary focus of the govt should be the future development of SL. Maybe they should have a ten year development plan for infrastructure, agricultural and business development and have specific goals and a time frame to achieve them.

Yes, the US states model is not a bad model for the NE of Sri-Lanka to adopt, when the time comes. When the LTTE really is, and one fine day they will have to, ready to end this crisis meaningfully, may be we can get the help of US expertise, to implement such a model.

Forest,
yes, US state model is not a bad model

But SL politicians are bad and ugly. There is not a single honest politician, you can find among sinhalese. With that track record, no foregin model is neither suitable nor workable.

An area Terrorist leader Mahenthi of the an LTTE terrorist outfit in Mannar district, and three LTTE cadres, were killed in a Claymore attack carried out by the Sri Lanka Army soldiers, on Vellankulam - Thunukkai Road, Saturday morning, LTTE officials in Killinochchi said. A civilian farmer, seriously wounded in a Claymore attack Saturday morning around 6 a.m., succumbed to his wounds at Killinochchi hospital. Two employees of the World Bank funded North East Irrigated Agriculture Project (NEIAP) were wounded in a separate DPU attack in Nedunkerni. Claymore attacks by the Sri Lankan Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP), known as the Deep Penetration Unit (DPU), have escalated in LTTE controlled Vanni.
Terrorist Mahenthi was in charge of an area in LTTE controlled Mannar district.

The civilian farmer who succumbed to his wounds at Killinochchi hospital was identified as Navaratnam Srinagathasan, 32.

Two other attacks were also reported in LTTE controlled areas, Saturday, according to Tiger officals.

Also on Friday, a blast was reported around 7:25 p.m. in LTTE controlled Mannar area near Pallamadu. Casualty details were not available.

A Sinhala driver and a trainee caretaker of Thummara Enterprise, a Southern contractor firm, were killed two days ago, when the SLA DPU attackers targeted the Mannar Commander of the Tigers.

Has the LTTE constructively engaged at any time, with any of the groups living in the island below:
(i) sinhalese buddhists-not on your life!
(ii)sinhalese catholics-no!
(iii)muslims-no!
(iv)upcountry tamils-no!
(v)malay muslims-no!
(vi)burghers-no!
(vii)veddhas-no!
(viii) tamil intellectuals, tamil politicians and tamil organisations and generally tamil people opposed to their methods-no, they have been gunned down!

o.k. what about nearest neighbour Tamil Nadu-no!

What about India then?no!

So my question is, without engaging constructively in a dialogue with the above groups of people, how on earth is the LTTE going to in anyway, bring about peace in the the island they live in?! My guess is, they will have to talk and have a dialogue with all the above groups of people, to arrive at a long lasting political solution.

I agree that some sinhalese got a short memory!

I think it is better to have a short memory than no memory!

your spoksman iPrasad wont know whats happening in N & E from his ac room

You have got a big problem that you haven't got an ac room.

Be happy you are escaped from ltte and living in safe.

Realy funny your way of thinking

Very soon your so called Sl forces will run back to Colombo like what happened in Elephant Pass.

It might happened, no wonder ltte has got enough trained considerationless, brutall killers. See the pics from Tamilnet.

my opinion is :::No matter who did this masacre..... They are BABARIANS worst than animals, unbeliveble, gruesome killers.... hanibals..
