What you fail to understand is that the GOSL and SLA is a subdivision of the sinhalese.
The LTTE is a subdivision of the tamils. |

Norway blames Tigers
Saturday, June 10, 2006
Daily Mirror
By Easwaran Rutnam
Norway yesterday blamed the LTTE for the breakdown in the much looked forward to Oslo talks and warned it might be forced to reconsider the whole concept of the SLMM if the LTTE maintained its stand on demanding the removal of SLMM members from EU countries that recently banned the rebels.
The government meanwhile said the future of the SLMM would have to be discussed in detail following the LTTE failing to turn up at the Oslo talks and demanding the removal of SLMM members from Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
-8220;If the LTTE maintains its demand, we must reconsider the whole concept of the SLMM, since Norway will not be able to fill all the vacancies. We ask the LTTE to reconsider its stand. It is usual practice that the observers represent the group they are members of, and not their homeland,-8221; Norway's International Development Minister Erik Solheim said.
However despite the latest developments government Defence spokesman and Minister Keheliya Rambukwella told reporters yesterday that the ceasefire was still in place and the government remained committed to a negotiated solution.
-8220;The agreement reached when the SLMM was formed clearly states that the members will be from Nordic countries. If the LTTE is refusing to work with EU countries then one should ask if the LTTE is opposed to the number of humanitarian workers from EU countries working in the north and east. Even the Colombo head of the UN is from the US where the LTTE is banned so does that mean they want him out as well?,-8221; Minister Rambukwella asked.
While the LTTE delegation in Oslo led by the rebel political head S.P. Thamilselvan yesterday continued lone discussions with the Norwegian facilitators the government team led by the peace secretariat head Palitha Kohona was preparing to depart for Colombo.
Minister Rambukwella stressed it was important to note the government was committed and ready for the talks despite it being secondary to the Geneva discussions and added that it did not pull out at the last minute like the LTTE after reaching Oslo. The Norwegian Government said in a statement it regretted the inability to hold the much needed meeting between the Government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE to assess the difficult situation in Sri Lanka and to address the safety and security of the SLMM.
-8220;After having accepted the Norwegian invitation, and after having arrived in Norway, the LTTE raised objections to the previously communicated intentions and modalities for the meeting.
This was the reason for the meeting not being held. By this a critical opportunity has been lost for the people of Sri Lanka who so desperately need their leaders on both sides to renew their obligation to uphold the CFA and other CFA-related commitments and to improve security,-8221; the Norwegian statement said.
The LTTE has informed the Norwegian Government it is not ready to accept SLMM monitors from states which separately or by membership in international organisations have included the LTTE on lists for the application of specific measures to combat terrorism.
-8220;By not being able to address this urgent issue in the presence of
both parties, the Royal Norwegian Government and SLMM have been seriously hampered in their efforts to find a future solution for the SLMM and thereby encourage respect for the CFA and its effective monitoring,-8221; Norway said.
-8220;The most embarrassed party would be the Norwegians. They arranged
the meeting, they requested, they facilitated to go to Oslo. The very
good friend who they took there (the LTTE) then tells the Norwegians
sorry we cant sit down to talk. This shows the LTTE is taking Norway
and the International community as a joke. The LTTE says one thing in
the morning, another thing in the afternoon and something different
at night,-8221; Minister Rambukwella noted.
The Minister while emphasising that the government remained committed
to the peace processsaid it would not jeapordise national security.
Meanwhile Minister Rambukwella said only time would tell if there would
be a change in the policy of offering army helicopters to LTTE peace
delegations who travel from the Wanni to Killinochchi after the
rebels made use of the offer to go to Oslo but boycotted the talks.
While the government delegation return to Colombo the rebel team will
fly to Switzerland for meetings before returning to Sri Lanka on
Wednesday.

The Don't know the LTTE. But When something happens immediately everybody including Anud, Vinivida and forest know the LTTE.... Hahahas.... What joke of the idiots...
He, Kaidrgamar though a genius in many ways, didn't know the Tigers!
Gen. Fonseka, despite his impressive track record of having led successful battles against the Tigers didn't know them!
The Air Force had disregarded calls by a group of vigilant residents who had seen suspicious movements of the attackers. The Air Force didn't know the Tigers!
Chandrika's security personnel didn't know the Tigers.
Col. Tuan Meedin didn't know the Tigers!
Those who are battling the Tigers have proved that they don't know their enemy.
Know the enemy... Editorial News in the other thread says |

GOSL atrocities are being EXPOSED.
SLMM receives Complaints of possible Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement from the Government of Sri Lanka, the LTTE Leadership and the armed forces of both Parties. However a vast number of complaints come from the General Public in North and East Sri Lanka. |

Berty:
LTTE knows only war. Out of that they can not live. Out of that they don't know how to strategize.
Their speciality is war.
Both MR and Ranil worked gainst that. their last resort was war. Instead they worked from the other end to corner the LTTE.
NOw, if Mahinda Rajapakse can get LTTE to the contitutional table they won't survive. Because democracy is toxic and fatal to LTTE.
LTTE is trying hard to get into the war mode, but because of raniL IC is watching always.
LTTE makes the wrong decision means they will be finished. Now, that is happening everyday.
If you understand this that any succeeful person will perish because of their own succeess. That is a truth.
The simple reason they cannot grow out of that. |

Dillont,
No my dear that is not correct!!
It should be stated separately! Sinhalese and the GOSL and Tamils and LTTE. (web surfer was right)
We should understand GoSL should be responsible for the safety and security of all Sri Lankans (You guys know the meaning of sri lankans, if not refer to web surfers posting)and such the SLA should protect all sri lankans.
They cannot carry out revenge attacks. If they do they should be condemned and the GoSL should be asked to explain. |
