I have Tamil friends who studied in SL Government school's for free and Entered GOSL funded Universities and hooting at GOSL living in foreign countries.
They use the GOSL for their benefit and that's about it. I wonder if all of us can go and live in LTTE control area and use their services for free |

Not only that... these LTTE Terror sponsors get full protection from the SLA while they live, work, study and travel in the country.

Vinivida,
GOSL represents entire population in Sri lanaka, no matter which origin. So its ok to give free education and sponsorship etc...But they should give credit to GOSL for that. |

If you have the will and the means, please go to Jaffna. Don't show yourself as a Sinhalese. Walk past the security check points with a Tamil family. Then come back to this web or ask yourself the need of LTTE for the Tamils.
Please, Kamani, I am not making fun at you. I genuinely want you to experience the problems the Tamils face and then you will be better equipped to comment.

SL Govt behaves like Israeli govt. Who tore the BC pact, SC Pact and P-TOMS. Indo-Lanka Accord of 1987 is still not implemented. According to CFA 1.) military must leave the civilian homes to allow them to return from refuge camps and 2.) Disarm paramilitary groups, 3) LTTE cadres, SLA/SLN soldiers should not be killed, 4) LTTE should not hoist its flag in GoS controlled areas, 5) LTTE should not recruit children as fighters etc.
My reference is to the period beginning mid 1980s. BC pact & SC pact were long before that. As for P-Toms, don?t you know GOSL is hampered by Supreme Court ruling?
There are so many other other don?ts in the CFA like not using the ceasefire to strengthen the military (which the GOSL faithfully observed but not the LTTE), not erecting new camps (GOSL observed but not LTTE), not resorting to extortions etc. How about the LTTE attacks in Valaichenai and Mutur in June 2002 and again in Mutur in April and August 2003? LTTE brazenly violated and continues to violate the CFA which has parallel only with Israel.
Disarming para-military within 30 days of signing the CFA was duly completed by withdrawing arms from the EPDP and others leaving the LTTE free to kill hundreds of EPDP and other cadres. If you are referring to Karuna group, in the first place SLMM has ruled that it is NOT a para military group and secondly Karuna group came into existence a good 2 years after the CFA. The 30 day period for disarming para-militaries obviously means that Karuna group is outside the CFA.
As for not killing of LTTE cadres and GOSL forces, LTTE brazenly violated this clause umpteen number of times by killing dozens of SLA LRP soldiers and intelligence operatives while even today GOSL has refrained from killing LTTE cadres except when attacked.
In spite of all these, if you say GOSL violations are serious, you are talking with your tongue in the cheek like all LTTE diehards.
The tragedy of Plaestinians is well known and only the ignorant will compare the brutalities Palestinians have been exposed to for almost 60 long years on a daily basis, with the problems of the Tamils in Sri Lanka. The parallel I drew was with the high handed and arrogant behaviour of the LTTE with the Israelis. It is quite easy for any objective mind to see that LTTE thinks and acts like the Israelis. While the Israelis are able to get away because of their almighty patron, the LTTE, fortunately for Sri Lanka, does not have that luxury. If you are so concerned about the LTTE, you should be telling them to behave instead of wasting your breath in trying to defend the indefensible. If you want to do some good to the LTTE, waste not even a minute in telling them to behave. |

abdul is a classic switch hitter. he is a sri lankan when the tamils are on the opposite side. but he is a muslim when the GOSL wants to represent them (demanding a separate delegation for the talks) we have gone through this many times!!

Let me give you another view of why i equate Israel to the GOSL.
Isreal is a country who has captured Palestenain land. Just like the GOSL has invaded Jaffna/trinco/batti.
Isreal does colonisation so does GOSL
Isreal like to deal with many groups so as to not give anything to anyone Hamas, al-aqsa bridage, Islamic Jihad Hezbollah, PLO
so does the GOSl with its paramilitaries. divide and conquor
Israel hasnt kept any agreements all the way from resolution 242 onwards. GOSl has signed agreements like there was no tomorrow but doesnt beleive in implementing them
Iseal demolishes the house of suicide bombers leaving their family on the street. GOSL goes after civilians.
Hamas uses suicide bombings , LTTE was a guerilla group once and is a conventional fighting force now.
Hamas has a lot of social programs (health care, schools) , so does the LTTE.
Hamas is fighting to free their land, so does the LTTE
