Gaja
I see two problems with this part of your solution. One is the timing if it is to compete with the IGSA. The second is the 'attitude' of revenge which leave nothing positive towards a Peace solution.
You are the reason we dont have peace in this country. People like you are the stumbling block. You have no intention to compromise. You have no intention to reach out to the other side. Its all about arguing for the sake of arguing like the singhala extremist
Where did i say to compete ? Its about both sides presenting their starting point. In every negotiation its like that. Not like Lakshman Kadhirgarmar (Who was unfortunately a tamil like you too) throwing the baby out when IGSA was proposed by the LTTE. Instead of smashing it like a big intellectual. The good thing he could have done is to praise the fact they had submitted the proposal and it was a starting to point to negotiate.
The same thing we can do too. If GOSL gives a proposal then lets look at it and then give our feedback. Not keep saying not enough, not enough, no we are competing, no you need to do more blah blah.
The side that seeks to LEAD must do higher work than the other.
Rubbish and utter rubbish. In a peace process NO ONE LEADS. You WORK TOGETHER. This is a typical sri lankan mentality. Thats why we dont have peace. Its about trying to get one over the other man mentality. Singhala extremist and tamil extremist like yourself come from that mentality.
If your sincere then you work together towards peace. Not sit and say one has to LEAD or one has to PROPOSE etc. Now I can understand why the international community is sick of sri lanka. You people all you can do is to sit and criticise.
I can see why all of you are disappointed that the GOSL is doing it. I can just imagine if they implement what you will be doing too.
Time to cling to the cynaide capsule very tight. Better hope a solution never comes for everyone of your sake. |

When YOU say MAJORITY Tamils would like this is that not what you are say - MAJORITY Tamils in your mind.
My opnion
AND
Majority Tamils seek to PARTICIPATE in the development of the Peace Solution
This is yours
There is a peace process. LTTE representing the tamils is participating in it. They are the sole representatives of the tamils. Whether you or singhala extremist like it or NOT that is the reality.
I am quoting what the sole representatives said. They have said that the GOSL needs to present their proposals with proper southern consensus BEFORE they can discuss core values. I too strongly support that view. There is no need for us to participate and waste our blooming time with every monk and red devil on the street. The singhala extremism was created by the singhalese. They are responsible to get that proposal from them
Now I am not saying just cos they come with village council as southern consensus the tamils will agree to it. But I want them to first build that consensus. The so called benefits of multi-party democracy.
So participation for the tamils will happen the way the LTTE determines. If you represent other than the LTTE then you go and get your votes with your ideas and then deal with it. For me i have no problem with LTTE representing the tamils at the peace table and i agree with their strategy on this.
Sorry i dont agree with this participation rubbish so early on. We are participating but we are doing it in a manner that is also not meaningless to the tamils. We have wasted enough time with these APC etc. I want to see TANGIBLE OUTCOMES. Thats LTTE's position and i too support that position.
I am quoting what the MAJORITY representation of the tamil community said (LTTE). Get southern consensus and submit your proposal as an alternative to IGSA before core issues can be discussed. Edited By - aj07 - 2 Jun 2006 03:19:22 GMT |

The president needs to act quick to formulate a constitutional solution concept by considering the ground realities rather than just passing time with meetings and pretend to be doing something constructive to solve the problem.
Government also got good deserved beating, particularly more in private, from the US and the co-chairs. Hopefully, there will be strong IC pressure on the government to deliver meaningfully. |

I FULLY AGREE with you. But we have to see whether this is possible. I tend to agree with Prabakaran's assessment. If there is a singhala leader who can carry the singhalese its only Rajapakse. I dont think Ranil could have.
Peace or War MR has the ability to SELL it to the south. He is their man not the colombo singhala politician.
He has been VERY SHRUDE in saying he is not bind by previous or another country model. I feel this is a good strategy. This gives him the option to be extremely hardline or extremely flexible the way he wants. Also no one in the future can accuse him (especially manchester united) he was forced by India or US or whatever. By saying its a 'unique Lankan model' he has taken out all labels etc out. This does not allow his political opponents any room to knock him down. Edited By - aj07 - 2 Jun 2006 03:29:27 GMT |

'This position runs counter to the Mahinda Chinthanaya, where President Rajapaksa pledged to seek a solution under a unitary structure. Now they are talking about an undivided country, which in other words means a federal system which we oppose,'
Oh yeah and we have MR AGAINST as usual. |

Implementation of the ISGA immediately, or separation.. your choice MR
Kanthun,
who the hell you are to think that we will give in to LTTE demands? If you want to go ahead and let LTTE wage another war sacrificing Tamil youth and children you are welcome.
Nonpartisan solution is what we need . If Tamils made a monolithic representation of them selves whose leader a Psychopath now fighting for his own survival that is their mistake. If they can not rectify their mistake they will become the fools of the 21st century. |

Whoever said that the Singhalayas are Modayas, must be a genius, because, no matter what model, whether Singhalaya model, or Kandy model, Munisinghe model, Mathanmuththa model, if Pirabhkaran refused to accept any of these models, what is the point?
Why don't you Singhalayas talk to Pirabhakran first? I think all Singhalayas like Maathanamuthha who cut the goat's head to save the pot and then break the pot to save the head. Rajabakshe thinks that he can take Pirabhakaran for a ride. Well before Rajabakshe, many other Sinhaalyas tried that, but you know where they are now and even the sole survivor of it can only use her one eye. Edited By - Thivya - 2 Jun 2006 04:44:16 GMT |

Mucho / Maga and others,
For the first time in LTTE conflict, Sinhala people are setting up demonstrations against LTTE killings in Welikanda backed by the JVP. Most JVPens has joined Gramarkshaka balakaya! Muttur Muslims were provided with Arms. Even ladies of border villages were given firearms training by the SLA.
It seems our sungoat has met his MATCH afterall!
Cheers

Thank God! LTTE doesn't need to buy arms anymore, now they can get it from the Singhalayas in the border villages. Everyone knows Lankan army has been the main arms supplier for the LTTE, every time SL army buys more weapon, LTTE cut down their defense budget, did you know that Mr. Pera?
