Honda introduces scooter for young women

The first ever scooter of Honda family `Pleasure` was launched in Colombo recently.
Stafford Motors (Pvt) Ltd (SMPL) has targeted the scooter market of young women. The 100cc scooter is available in eight colours and comes with a warranty of 2 years or 24,000 km. it is available with a special feature of tyres fitted with Tuff-up tubes for comfort and better pick up. This will be a special alternative for young women who face problems when travelling in public modes of transport.
According to (SMPL)Deputy General Manager Kapila Gunathilake, 150cc `Achiever` the second generation of Hero Honda was also launched. The Achiever adds muscle to Honda family and is presented to the market targeted for young school leavers and young Executives. The Achiever comes in nine colours with a warranty of 3 years or 40,000 km.
`Achiever was first launched in December last year and achieved 50 per cent market share in India,` said Hero Honda Motors Limited of India Export Manager Ms. Sneh Jaiswar.
According to SMPL Deputy General Manager Charaka Perera, Stafford Motors Company has a market share of around 30 per cent with over a 100 sales dealers and 150 service dealers islandwide.
SMPL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kalinga Kaluperuma and General Manager Bimal Perera were also present at the occasion.
