Ahead of a crucial meeting of the Co-Chairs to the peace process in Japan by end May, to save the country`s shaky cease-fire agreement, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera will be flying there, Thursday.
However, the Foreign Ministry said that the meeting was scheduled before violence between the LTTE and the military peaked and that the Minister would discuss the upcoming Co-Chair meeting during the visit.
Peace apart, Minister Samaraweera would also take up bilateral agreements during his first visit to Japan as Foreign Minister. The so called Co-Chairs, constituting Norway, Japan, the United States and the European Union, would meet with an Indian official, to discuss the deteriorating security situation and how best they could help save it.
Japanese special envoy Yasushi Akashi who left the country last week after a failed attempt at a breakthrough in the peace bid, said that the Co-Chairs would be ?soul-searching? at the upcoming meeting, as to where they have gone wrong in helping Sri Lanka to sort out the ethnic issue.
Government Peace team member and Minister Rohitha Bogollagama is scheduled to visit Japan on May 28, prior to the May 30 Co-Chair meeting.

| Mr mangal,At least now go and tell the world that your government did a utter bloody mistake by going to amened the 2002 SF agreement, and asked those leaders for help,you and your buffoons,don't you understand this agreement cloud not bee change with out the two leaders.why can not you understand why mahinda choose a minister like you to run the foreign ministry.tern back and see all the past governments had qualified people in that position. |

Mangala is the right person to do the job for mahinda.
Mahinda is a hardliner , he want somebody to talk nonsence to the world.

then Mahinda came to power in his first statement he never thanked norway for its help in facilitation then he was forced to invite norway. with his pant down.

Mangala called europiens DU not EU it is because Dirty Unwashed ass he said.
