Even if 1983 riots repeats, the blame goes to LTTE, not to Sinhalese. Every individual in the world knows now what LTTE wants is a backlash by sinhalese against Tamils i.e.kill as many tamils by Sinhalese. It is the sole objective of sole representative of Tamils.
I am sure no country will offer refugee status to tamils now in case of riots agaist tamils. |

Hm......things have changed now, otherwise would have taught the Tamil bu...rs in the south a good bloody lesson. Electoral list is there but frightened to attack.
Those days it was so simple, just go round and whack the bu...rs and they will run. But now they are prepared to give back, if we finish 10 the bu...rs are eying for 100, bloody hell that is.
So now our chandi puthas have to bite their nails and fume. We could have smashed up Kilinochi but then how about Colombo and other palces....oh don't want this calamity. Let us observe peace at least in the south.
N& E no problem, our brave boys just snatch any Tamil civilian bu..er going in front of the camp, like a sea anemone catching its prey, shoot and finish him off in secret, even the bones are not found some time. It is a real soup for Tamils alright.
So who said there will be backlash, nonsense no backlash and not even a frontlash, we are good Buddhists in the south |

Major naval battle: Sri Lanka plunges toward open civil war
By K. Ratnayake
13 May 2006
While the Colombo government and media immediately denounced the LTTE for initiating the attack, the latest incident follows a long series of provocations by anti-LTTE Tamil paramilitaries working with sections of the Sri Lankan military. While the 2002 ceasefire between the LTTE and the government still is formally in place, the island?s undeclared war in the North and East is accelerating.
Both sides have effectively been on a war footing for months amid escalating violence following the election of President Rajapakse last November. While the government routinely denies any involvement in attacks on LTTE personnel and positions, there is growing evidence of the military?s involvement with various Tamil paramilitaries in carrying out killings designed to inflame communal tensions. At talks in Geneva in February, the government agreed to implement the ceasefire clauses requiring it to disarm militia operating in army-controlled areas, but that undertaking has not been carried out.
On Thursday, SLMM monitor Jouni Suninen told Reuters: ?We have very strong indications that at least part of the government troops have been involved in these killings.? He took the correspondent to a spot where the sister of a suspected LTTE member was shot dead?just 60 metres from an army checkpoint. SLMM investigator Jukka Heiskanen took statements from the three soldiers on duty, who claimed to have heard nothing. Rejecting the claims as completely implausible, he told the newsagency: ?It is ridiculous. They don?t even try to make things up.? |

TiggaLivzinAu
The mad dogs try harder but keep losing.
From fleeing Jaffna to the fall of the East, the losing continues.
But they also made sure, that red hot Tamil blood is made to be LOST by the dogs themselves.
Good, no? |

I guess it's defensive action by SL Navy & a bit of luck that allowed the troop carrier to get away to safe waters. It's a bit ludicrous to suggest (TiggaLivzinAU) that Tigers didn't attack this ship because it was in international waters or because of some old Viking who happened to be in the ship. Do international norms ever bother these guys? May be when it suits them...
Next time the SLN may not be that lucky so I hope they'll take necessary precautions (which I must add have been somewhat poor in the past) |

MadProfessor,
You are madder than I thought.Common sense nutty professor, common sense.
If a SLMM monitor had gone down with the ship to the bottom of the sea the international community would have turned against the LTTE in a big way.
A last warning has been given to the SLMM and next time they can't say they weren't warned. Edited By - tarquin - 13 May 2006 15:18:21 GMT |

Hey Pachaya,
Yes, you are right. You can't conduct a war hiding behind the SLMM monitors, pal.
No more SLMM security for your men.
They are truce monitors you know, not your first line of defence. |
