Arrangements are being made by the Sri Lanka - European Friendship Association to set up health clinics in the remote areas of Sri Lanka to provide free health facilities to the poor.
According to the association, a large number of Italian philanthropists and Sri Lankans who reside in Italy have consented to grant financial assistance for this worthy cause.
This programme is implemented under the guidance of Sylvester Jayakody, President of the Sri Lankan - European Friendship Association.
Under this programme, a foundation stone was laid at Ragachethiyarama Temple premises, Gokarella for a health clinic by Mrs. Christina Rochell, Italian Commissioner of scouting.
It has also been planned to construct a children`s home at Dodangaslanda under this programme.
