***The Chrakasamvara Tantra mentions the Buddha flying to Lanka and leaving the impression of his foot on a mountain. Later found as Sri Pada.

Chrakasamvara Tantra is another source from India that highlights Buddha's visits to Sri Lanka.

Amway, i just posted this here to let know that we have other literature in the world other than mahawansa explains Buddha's visit. I have not read Chrakasamvara Tantra or don't know much detail about this. Beside, I don't mind whether Buddha came to SL or not.

Good question,
Need to ask a Christian. Waruna was once sodomized by a catholic priest, that is why he is against Christians and catholics or any Buddhist who does not discriminate Christians .

Thank you Magha for your response.

When you ridicule some genuine practitioners of a religion - and you did ridicule the Hindu Practice of using dung and the Buddhist practice of using idols - you are ridiculing the religion itself. You do this not only with religion but with general matters - such as my mental status - when you do not have logical answers. You are not able to take defeat - and hence your harsh reactions. This indicates also that you are driven by material outcomes through your participation in this forum. One who participates for Service will accept the outcomes that flow naturally and will not insist on winning. That is the way of ownership - which drives genuine workers who work mainly for ownership or without expecting any fruits at all. That is the basic principle of Bhagawath Geetha - our Hindu Bible.

Gaja Lakshmi,

It is You who is a practicing Hindu , first ridiculed the Hindu religion. This is what you wrote. Quote ?Hinduism, the dung of sacred animals is burnt and the ash used as Holy Ash - to denote wisdom. Likewise even my waste which one day you will wear as Holy Ash of wisdom on your Sinhalese forehead.

The fact of the matter is it is only cow dung being used and not other animals, not to speak about Human excrement. A Hindu suggesting one?s excrement to be used for religious purposes is unacceptable and it ridicules the Hindu religion.

Anantha,

As I said before I am a Buddhist.

But I am a person who do not believe that Buddha flew to Sri Lanka and landed on one foot on a top of a mountain in the midst of wilderness.

Just because I am a Singhalese why should I accept obvious controversies and claims, that because of Buddha's visits as well as in Mahavamsa it was said that when Buddha was dying Buddhism will Cherish only in Sri Lanka ,so Singhalese Buddhists own this country. It is only now the JHU had abandoned the Singhalese ownership to the country, but not too long ago it was just Hela Urumaya.

Prabhakaran becoming a Christian it self shows the exploitation of religion for their cause. It is not to get the support of the local Christians but Christians of other countries. Whilst Singhalese Christians do not support LTTE, Tamil Christians do. There was a bridge between Singhalese and Tamils in the modern history of Sri Lanka through Christianity and Catholicism which is now broken.

Can somebody in this forum let us know why Prabhakaran converted to Christianity other than for opportunistic reasons?

What prabhakaran does is not the fault of the Christianity . Similarly what Sinhalese Buddhist do is not the fault of Buddhism too.
