The LTTE is not dealing with the small fry here. Big businessmen and high ranking military and government officers are the ones the LTTE is dealing with.
At lower levels I accept it is a terrible shame that poor people have to fork out money to get anything done. It is a national disease and must be eradicated.
Bribery is morally wrong but if the smaller LTTE has to fight the bigger SL military, bribery is one way of achieving or obtaining what you want. Here morality doesn't come into it. When your life is at stake who wants to think about morality. |

THERE IS NO ANY WEAPONS IN THE FISHING BOATS OF TAMILS BUT THERE ARE GOOD CATCHING OF VARIOUS KINDS OF FISHE AND OTHER SEA FOOD WHICH THESE SRI LANKAN FORCES CAN NOT AFFORD TO OAY FROM THEIR POOR SLARY. BUT THROUGH THEIR GUNS THEY USED TO THREAT THESE PPOR FISHERMEN TO STEAL THEIR FISH AND SEA FOODS.
This is not the first time that the sri lankan Navy seized fishing boats belonging to the poor fisherman to steal or confiscate their poor catching under the guns threat. there is no any weapons but only poor chatching of these poor fisherman in the deep sea.
In fact, the sinhalese thugs know very well that they can live as long as possible in the northern provinc through these astrocities against tamils fisherman.
How many fisherman from Tamil Nadu had to give up all their catching to these sinhala navy for their own consommation and by beating and shooting, these sinhala thugs used to steal and live as chamions in the tamil Homeland. Very often these poor tamils fishermen had to handover their chatching of the day to save their life.
I appeal very urgently to the Government of India and speically to the Tam Nadu authorities to take necessary action on these mid-sea sinhala thugs and take this matter to the international court.
Tamil Nadu fishermen and Fishermen from northeast and northewest of Sri lanka should take military training to save their life from these thugs . |

The US wants the GOSL to talk to the LTTE. The US doesn't tell the GOSL to crush it. OK? |

Exactly, the corruption does not have any clothes, class, creed or religion to go with. Which is not righteous. That was my whole point. Whether its a small town crook or a crook magnate the deed has the same repercussion of social injustice and detriment in lieu to the etiquette. The difference is the magnate can flee from trouble but the small crook has to keep digging for more dodgy avenue/dealings.
Can we justify this if we follow a set of social and religous etiquette?
This is the epidemic that needs be destroyed not the innocent civilians for that cause. |

Offering money to get things done is not like saving a sick patient mate. Offering money for the wrong disruptive cause has the purpose to commit wrong doing not the righteous deed. |

What is wrong and disruptive to some may not be the same to the others. It depends on which side you are on or what your motive is.

| As Unitedvrise said; fishmen or LTTE; the law prohibits civillians to posses explosives. Do you see people walking around in the cities with Gelignite sticks ? If their are fishmen they should also know not carry such items in a highly tense environment in coast of the Jaffna Peninsula. Sri lanakn Navy have the right to protect its territorial waters and protects the Sri Lanakans. The Navy did the right thing here. So pleasee ! |

Trying to blow up the country's international airport I was referring to as ExpatP mentioned in his post.
I would not think any person from Sri Lanka can appreciate blowing up of their airport being a developing country.
I neither condone burning the Jaffna libarary nor the airport if you want my view on that. |
