I have not been in the LNP for more than 6 months but I begin to wonder you can love on cyber space too
To JRJ, the wide-eyed 'Cyber Lover.'
did you ever love somebody?
did you ever really care?
did you ever need somebody
just to rub your hair
all the energy we spend on motion
all the circuitry and time
IS THERE ANY WAY TO FEEL A BODY
THROUGH FIBER OPTIC LINES?
everybody's going through the motions
got their heads up or down
no one seems to want to see the other person's eyes
reflect the world go 'round
everybody seems to want to get away to some place
get away from themselves
I got a feeling if they found that some place
they'll want to go some place else
do we really want to go to Mars?
do we ever really want to try?
I got a funny feeling if we get up there
we're gonna stop and wonder why
don't you want to be right here
right now?

Well, I have not seen you talking about any politics in any of the threads
JRJ,
Since you've asked. As far as I know, I am the only Singhalese in the forum who see the LTTE as a lesser evil than the Singhalese leaders. I have already said what I have to say elsewhere. To be honest, although I see the validity of their grievances and feel a separate country is the only viable solution, I have even more selfish reasons; the ruckus the LTTE has created in the North keeps the Singhalese politicians in the South off the backs of apolitical Singhalese. There were times when a man could wake up and not know if his house or land would be acquired. Now the 108 cabinet is kept busy solving the 'national problem.'
As I have said before, the LTTE is a direct result of the imbecilic Singhalese leaders we have had. I see no difference between their fight for separation and the en-masse migration of Singhalese to other countries. Both are trying to get away from the rule of such leaders. Will the leaders or the countries they newly embrace turn out to be any better? Who knows? But cant blame one for trying, it's the 'human condition' we are born into.
That's all the politics I am prepared to talk here in this thread. Edited By - hellogoodbye - 3 Mar 2007 02:53:59 GM |

i must point out that you have some company although i must say you were the first. Lets not forget Vim and Ruchira although they have a different take.
JRJ,
now that you have seen the trailer why not see the full feature film.
i,e what else has HGB got to say. it was his posts that prompted me (and others ) to ask Mr B for feature like favorite posts.
My profile has some of them. I have a thread and please chk it out.

HBG,
the ruckus the LTTE has created in the North keeps the Singhalese politicians in the South off the backs of apolitical Singhalese. There were times when a man could wake up and not know if his house or land would be acquired. Now the 108 cabinet is kept busy solving the 'national problem.'
I see you have a sound understanding of the issue. Well, I am not against you.
But my concern is what would happen in an imaginary two-state scenario? Would you think the peace will prevail? I have my doubts buddy, I feel this may be just another start for another warring issue. The Sinhalese and tamils will be enticed to create their own forces eg. Kaha balallu, ratu koti etc.
In fact, I have condemned the jumbo cabinet in my own space earlier. I totally agree with you and I just don't see how Mahinda going to address any social issue with a huge deficit when the cabinet is a laughing stock.
I am bit tipsy now, will talk to you later on.
TC, bro, I'll check your links later on & answer.
Good night everyone. Its the Cognac driving me mad tonight.
