Mur Ali is cruelly denied all 10 wickets as I have tuned into the radio there is a run out England 132/8 with Mur Ali 7/40.
That is not a surprise!!!!!!!!
Mur Ali should be made the Captain. |

I don't think any wrong with a classic bowler becoming a captain and Murali is one of THE experienced campaigners in Sri Lanka now. Remember Bob Willis was a Captain when he was bowling for England so was Kapil Dev of India and Wasim Akram.
Btw, Monty having a dart at Murali and making the batsmen mean at the moment :-) |

It would have been nice to see had Monty gone a little further. As the bloke was teaching the top order how to hit the Ace spinner over the ground. Hitting sixers for Murali where all thetop batsmen were succumbing to him.
WOuld have been nice had Murali taken all 10, but was not to be er?
Now what is left One dayers, I think SL will win, England are crap in Onedayers mate. |

Dr A,
akram?dev were all rounders and Willis wasnt a capt for a long time. Botham was one of the bet all rounders in our time but once gven the captaincy he failed miserably with bat and ball before he was relived and went on to win the ashes back in 81.
my issue is with murali 60 odd wickets away from warne giving him the captaincy 'might' affect his bowling. like SA did give the captaincy to a younger dude ang build he team.

Fantastic game. Came home just in time to see a magnificient Lankan victory. If only they had played 50% of what they had in this series in India we would have won it too. Just fantastic & welldone Moody. Should be praised for sticking on with the youngsters.
On the subject of captaincy I think J'dene did a decent job & should be continued with. However, Dr.A, I too think Murali would be a fantastic captain. Botham, Kapil Dev & Akram have been talked about but I would like to remind the forum about Imran Khan a fantastic captain (I would say the best pakistan has produced). Imagine, almost out of the 1992 worldcup & to win it ... I know the weather too played a part but his captaincy was truly inspiring. Another of his talent was to indentify youngsters Wasim, Waqar, inzamam are a few.
coming back to Murali, I have seen him play & even captain
I feel he has the ability to do the job provided of course he gets the backing of the whole team. Eg: when Vaas was appointed as VC for the tour of Australia there were rumours of senior players revolting & making his life miserable with some even not talking to him. Anyway, whatever said for once I agree with the DON ... Nothing to beat our captain Shanika. She's the best !! |
