:-),the verses are great..I have not seen anything close to these guys in music nor instrumental for this category, if you have anything in mind let me know.
Penn,
well you cannot reheat a souffle as morrissey might have said :) but there are some interesting new indie bands now...i particularly like The Strokes, they are a local New York City band that has gone on to do big things, very catchy riffs and deadpan lyrics, check it out

Penn, ML
this is on the subject of Hen pecked men. or in tamil meenachi archi. or petticoat govt. I am yet to find a sinhala word for this. maybe they dont have these phenomenon!
love marriage definitely helps. atleast you know the partner.
but then you have this
man marries a woman ...
woman marries a man ...
so i gather 1 yr is a good time frame. understanding that you cant be out everyday is key but need to head out for the odd game or two is important!!
my mom had an uncle who was like this. My uncles used to say since i have the same natchatiram (astrology) ivar nalla sullaraporar (wife is gonna duictate terms!).
its been good for me so far ! they say narpathuku mel nai kunam (after 40 yrs you behave like a dog!!) so things can go south very fast! so i'll enjoy the yrs till i reach that milestone, |

HGB,
Nope, I work.
There are not much Sri Lankans around here. There are few whom I do have contacts with.
ananda95,
Ireland is one place I always wanted to visit. The music and the literature fascinates me. Although I must say U2 is a bit overrated (just my opinion, I am sure others will think otherwise.) One of my favourite guys is Van Morrison, not his popy songs like 'Browned Eyed Girl,' (for which he is well known) but his other vast body of work 'Astral Weeks,' 'Veedon Fleece,' 'No Guru, No Method, No Teacher' etc, absolutely brilliant music. Some of his stuff has an uncanny resemblence to our music, Ameradeva et al. There are other bands as well, Hot House Flowers, Waterboys, who are pretty good.
If you are living in Dublin check out Ulysses by James Joyce. Edited By - hellogoodbye - 15 Nov 2006 00:01:07 G |

Hey Vim,
Nice to see you here mate.
Good to have a place here to talk of pleasant stuff.
I am following your posts on the other side. I am set to go to the sunny isle at the end of the month. So trying to keep my mind on pleasant things. As you know you have to have your wits sharp, more than just for the initial post but to retort and deflect attack; I am not up to it right now. I guess the sunny isle will recharge my batteries.
After the last visit witnessing the lull in the hostilities, I was thinking MR or VP will have a difficult time restarting, but how wrong I was.
Yep, I am trying to listen to 'Hat full of Hollow' but can never sit through the whole thing. Must confess have listened to the whole of 'Never mind the Bollocks,' though. |
