Dear Bongo, TCK and DrAkai and others.....
Sorry mates, was unable to attend practices due to work commitments and not much earnings these days in cricket. For the sake of mother Lanka, I am willing to be considered, provided that you have a contract; The Terms and Conditions:
One Dayers:
1. Being a good Slogger of the bloody ball, I should get the opening slot.
2. Every 6's would cost 1,000 smackers; in US$ of course.
3. Every 4's would cost US.500/-
4. Every run will cost US.100/-; and 2's would be double.
5. All the above should be in the 1st. 15 overs or during power plays whichever time of its occurrence.
6. No match fee's would be paid; commensurate with runs and remunerate with above fees.
7. Winning a Series would entitle the player for a pension scheme.
8. I will only field between a Silly Point and Fine Leg provided the Silly Point is Ruwani and Fine Leg is Shanika and TCK is in Gully position. Backward Point should only be made available to DrAkai to explore on the gravitational physics from rear end. Immaterial who is the Captain, Bongo should be the Wicket Keeper, cos he keeps the thread going.
Bongo, these are only for the ODI's. Agreement on Test Matches could be arrived at a later date, as I do not intend in attending the last test and be beaten which might result in my exclusion in the ODI's.
If not agreeable to the above terms, I will retire from ODI's and only play test next time around until and unless Asantha and Rajapakse intervenes with both my Fine Leg and Silly Point retained in the side. |

Mimsie: Finally you have turned out for practice so your place is fixed. You were never dropped, only the kiwi because even if he was included he will not turn out for the match.
This is patriotic duty so there are no fees. We are all fighting to protect our honour and dignity. There is no gender bias, best players get the chance. If the boys dont do well, we might have to send an all ladies team, so prove your mettle :)
As for fielding positions, only the captain can decide. Tomorrow if we bowl first let us hope the Prince will outwit the opponents.
If we bat first, Mimsie make sure you put a solid foundation with TCK.
Good luck guys, the first ever mixed team at international level led by Captain Cool. |

Dear Bongo
Aney, I am only asking a return fee for runs scored and not for idling around. See, our patriotic lot, even in the parliament are being paid over and under, without delivering anything. Foregoing a match fee and being paid only if you score runs is a better option, isn't it?. However, considering the present dilemma of the tour, I shall consider patriotically your advise, provided that I be paid the next time around....nothing is Summa, Okay. Only dissappointment is that I have to play by Captain Cool's field arrangement. Meanwhile, by any means if rain is expected, I will propose that all players in the field carry an umbrella and place those with the Umpires, just in case. Deshapremin kiyala nikang kahinda wedak ney, honday.
Now who shall do the Percy stuff!. |

Disgrace!!
Drinking culture of the LN Cricket team.
According to unconfirmed reports drunk Mimslanka assaulted a patron at a English bar in the early hours of Sunday morning and senior player Bonngo had then allegedly attacked Mimslanka, because of his behaviour.
A 24-year-old London man, who did not want to be identified, told The Dinamina he was in a bar where Mimslanka, who had been drinking and playing pool, tripped over his feet.
Mimslanka then turned and allegedly punched him in the jaw.
'He just hit me in the side of the jaw. I was really shocked,' the man said.
'Then Bonngo hit him a couple of times with the handbag as if to say 'you idiot'. Mimslanka started crying. It was crazy.'
The 24-year-old woman (some say LN captain) who owned the handbag said she couldn't believe what happened.
'I mean a handbag, of all things. How hilarious... he hit him pretty hard. We heard it crack across the bar. He cracked him up the side of the head twice,' she told Dinamina.
' Mimslanka got quite upset and started crying. They got them out the back door of the bar.'
'Numerous reports are now in circulation which have provided various accounts about the incident,' said a player who didn't want to be identified (unconfirmed reports comfirmed that it is Prince).
When contacted about the incedent, Kiwikanga who is practicing to be a lawyer said 'Go and ask your mother' further reports say.

Well Radaw... a good news story
I refuse to comment in keeping with the Boards policy of not entertaining news media persons. Having said that, as a team we keep in line with the Captains decisions on the field and off-the-field we tend to act like youths to boost our morale in the grounds. We have taken many a punch before and had the world cup before. If some punch is needed to boost our chances in the next world cup, so be it. Anyway, for your information, hooligans are not welcome in cricket grounds too. |
