Hey ML,
I have seen these here and there and have heard good things about them, but never had a chance for a serious listen. Other good ones are GRAAF and Unison Research. There are few Italian companies making some good esoteric HiFi stuff in the same mould as their cars, Ferrari, Masserati etc.
If I am not mistaken, Pathos are hybrid amps, the first stages are tubes and the output transistors. In fact we (the group of guys into HiFi here) have been experimenting with the Ming-Da preamp, using it with several other transistor power-amps, Krell, Bryston etc. It's quite a shock to realize how much of a tube flavour it imparts on the whole shigalag. Just the first input tube (12AX7) has a big effect on the final sound. I have tried about 20 different brands/types and the best so far is Sylvania black plate 12AX7 of about 1953/4 vintage. Surprisingly one of the best amps turned out to be the Pioneer A400 (using only the power section.) It could even drive my Quad ESLs without a sweat. In the high frequencies the impedance of the Quads fall as low as 1 ohm, almost a straight wire, many transistor amps just go up in smoke.
It's difficult to find A400s here but I guess they were sold by the truck loads in the UK. A nice cost effective setup would be the Ming-Da preamp with a A400 (or a pair operated in bridged or bi-amped mode.)
As far as amps are concerned Radaw is spoiled for choice; girls are a whole different kettle of fish.
Have you listened to Avant-garde Uno or Duo s. Pretty good front loaded horns. |

Thilangam Anna, Extremely good name. However, it seems you will be 60 years YOUNG in december. On the subject of Bonggo Seeya, I do hope he gets back soon. Somehow the forum seems not right w/out him around.

if one stays fit, just enjoys life, spreads cheer around
& does no harm intentionally to others ... i suppose it will be ok. I suppose it depends on how you approach it.

Actually, he is the one from MTL. We are from Wijerama originally from Deraniyagala Wickramarathna korale.

Banana flower ( I think you are referreing to Valai pothi in tamil) is good dish but never tried with coconut milk. I use food processor to do the chops, little spice and onion and sauté for 10 mints. |

cut out of siluku doesnt cut it! with live action figures there is always a small possibility of a techinical breakdown (Ie Janet jackson at the superbowl). so even if siliku is clad in leather I'll take my chances with the live action figures. something can pop out! |
