Penn,
ask Dr. Akai he will do the honors...kartherikai for start...
How are things dear?
I have been experimenting many veggie formulae my self in order to make the variations of life's gourmet fantasies without incurring undue pain and suffering for other lives as much as I can.
Do you buy frozen spinach? In fact I'm a great fan of frozen spinach, one thing about that is it has already retained its nutrients despite frozen as you know the strcutures would not be changed unless its burnt. I do like cabbage and spinach in a stir fry style menu with some tomato puree as usual. If you prefer you can add a bit of crushed pepper, ginger or garlic or even some curry powder to get an added taste (but I prefer tomato alone than curry powder - not because I am anti-curry powder or anything, simply the taste remains original with tomatoes and veggies.
Now here's another one button mushroom with leek/onion. Perhaps I told you that before.
I also do have veggie sausages when I am having my favourite glass of Shiraz. Cannot help it or have some pistachios.
Where is our Master Thilagam? I do miss him a lot. The Master's band seems to be tottering without the linchpin.
Penn, can you sing the song 'Power of Love' by Jenny Rush? I'll let you sing for our band. I remember back in 1985 when Jenny was singing that I could not take my eyes away from her due to her vibes trembling all over me. She was such a performer. But other than that she failed miserably. I guess the lyrics have exuded the fragrance in her too. Edited By - DrAkai - 7 Nov 2006 22:12:00 GMT |

Dr. Akai
Nice to have your presence:-).You and me are the genuine participators of vegetable journey. For the record, ML,Raves and good old TC are con-artists in the name of vegetable chasing an uncooked meat. I do feel sorry for the meat.
I do like spinach, but do buy fresh and ready cook. Its just that with frozen one it leaves too much water feels so slushy.Do you have Collard (another name is Saag) over there? Don't know the correct name but the taste is similar to Ponnanganni in Tamil
( Botanical name Alternanthera sessilis) is simply great .The one I am really trying to get the best out is artichokes.we are so much used to spices, I have reduced it substantially mainly due to health reasons.
Thilagam Anna is busy getting well equipped to avoid any glitches
'Power of Love' by Jenny Rush I will try my best, provided you vouch that no one will get away when I start my vocal. |

Penn sahothari,
Vanakkam!
You can call me anything you like - 'baba', 'anna'..
Unkal siththam en paackiyam.
I am a simple human being totally ruled by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Now getting back to your question:
Any of you know a good florist in Colombo to buy wreaths / garland ? asap answer will be greatly appreciated
If you are looking for bouquets and have money to spare, 'Shirohana' which is next to Hotel Holiday Inn is the place to go.
If you are cost conscious and would like to buy wreaths, there are tens of shops along Alexandra Road in front of the Eye Hospital. Prices are very reasonable and quality OK.
If you want to buy garlands you have to order in advance at any flower shop or the ones in front of Bampalapitiya Flats. If you really want good 'Rojapoo Maalai', just one choice : fly to Chennai.
I hope the information is not too late!!

I wish, I could play like this guy. I am practising like mad! Wish Penn wasn't clanging her switchblades in the background.
