Bro Thilagam,
As I said before I am not an anti-Garlick. Yes, I do know garlick is good medically and also for nocturnal stuff you know what I mean. This is a known fact!! Bit like a macademia nut overdose you know!!
Btw, I do like string hoppers too. Will perhaps try your Kulambu curry. Can it be made for Veggies too?
Do you like Kathrikka? I like Kathrikka but has to be cooked mildly not too much spices. |

Dr. Akai
As I said before I'm a vegetarian so I eat lots of veggies and dairy products.
Nice to know you are a vegetarian ,me too. Ginger is my favorite. As for onions I prefer shallots as they come close to small red onions at home. I love tofu, so yes tomato puree is used for those dishes ..
Thilagam anna's dish is vegetarian. Edited By - penn - 30 Oct 2006 21:02:03 GMT |

Penn,

Yes, I too have tofu. Here in UK we have veggie protein stuff called Qourn, which is dried. It comes as mince (veggie) too. So I am not that completely lost and also take lot of kidney beans as means of protein.
Instead of having onions I use leeks similarly. I am kind of mad at leeks. Do you use it? I like Leeks and Mushroom together lightely stir fried in ground nut oil.
Btw, how long have you been a Veggie? life time or have recently been? Is it due to religious reasons or moral reasons? Just wondering!!
You must be a few Veggie Sri Lankan girls living abroad, if I am correct. I know one Sri Lankan girl here too. But its a rarity. Nice to know you truly. I always get the meal first when I fly as I am one of the very few on board.
To be honest with you, I feel by being a veggie once soul becomes pure too (may be spiritual), because you don't take animal suffering or pain inside. I have been a Veggie for over 20 years now. Edited By - DrAkai - 30 Oct 2006 21:18:30 GMT |

Dr. Akai
Vegetarian life time never tasted meat, so don't know what I am missing, It's for moral reason. I use kidney beans as well very nutritious. Leeks is awesome, I sauté with grated carrots with little onion and I use olive oil. West of US is over whelmed with the vegetarians, I have lot of vegetarians ( Americans) in my work place.so finding food is very convenient. |
