Thilangam Annai, your spot on ... those were the days. The best thing about it is they were so care free. I wish we go back to it. I also remember the Paan Mama who used to carry a hughe box like thing on his head full of compartments (1 for bread, 1 for bannis & so on). We used to wait for him to come daily.
Talking of films I remember going to see an adult movie after school. Boy we were terrified. The best part of it was that 3 of us went, Two of us were underage & the guy who was older was chased out by the manager ! We still talk about it & laugh our heads off. |

I have nothing against Garlic, I eat plenty of them.My mother used to make 'Vendaiya Kulambu' = it is a red gravy with lots of Garlic , red onions and other spices. We are hindus, and on Fridays my mum made us stringhoppers(red stringhoppers) and vendaiya kulambu for dinner.
I think you should try that Kulambu with red stringhoppers, you may remove the garlic as I know you are a garlic hater.
Btw, yes I did have that Garlic expereince before, and now with my wife, No problem we both are garlic eaters, No complain from either side!
Garlic is good for the health especially for high blood presure!
If the presure mounts, then Garlic is the answer. |

Penn,
Garlic is part of my cooking but the smell is when you mince (Indian cooking do the mince), when you cut to slices it doesn't smell that bad,you put few secs in the micro wave which kills only the components of the fragrance :-).
Don't get me wrong I am not a Garlic basher. I do like it but in very small quantities. In fact when I cook curries I use the garlic crusher than chopping it on. I feel when you crush it it provides the great flavour. As I said before I'm a vegetarian so I eat lots of veggies and dairy products.
I guess ginger and garlick crushed give a great flavour on any dish, don't you? But basically I'm a tom lover than too much chillies. Tom puree is my best and gives the red intimacyy colour. Do you? |
