My Dear Thambi, Thangatchi, Aiyya, Malli, nangi, and
Loku Akka's, Mamma, Mamis, Amma and Appas!
I am amazed when this contract( for the past 20 years we had been trying) came to us to day!
We thought there were'nt any English musicions left over to perform?
only on thing!, Guess!, they thought everyone in Sweden has to do with AbbA and Roxette!! They were wrong!!
Typical failure!! of the English, Americans and the Europeans! .
We do it better than anyone who could imagine!
howeveer we never gave a chance of winning the game!?
In a way you could compare the Sri Lankans who will never give up?
Poor us and the meantime luckey us, din'dt we always faught to be the best?
Yes, you find it in the Sri Lanklans who are best,
no matter if they are Tamils ,Muslims, burgher, or Sinhalese.
Sometimes this west dude's think they are smarter than us, well I am so dissapointed with these dudes!!
Our boys(Sri Lankans)know how to deal with it, I am proud of that!Sri lankans guys are very talented!
Well! I want my fellow tamils, sinhalese, muslims,Malays and Burghers to give me an helping hand on this day.
I will be informing you guys the exact day of performences, so you better watch out for the day!
I am a proud Sri Lankan Tamil! Sinhalese, Malay, Muslim and Burgher! |

Penn,
Indeed it's classic piece, I grew up listening music to speeches from this deck It was the center piece. He cherished it like his oldest child. My father profession was media , so he had good collection of all good music to historic speeches and his own news. I am in my early thirties but cannot forget these great stuff
Very interesting stuff from you. I think most of the media personnel use them them days. Even my father who was a broadcaster in SLBC had a one back in the early 1970s an earlier model which we still have back home in a rather dilapidated status. He later had rather small mono Sony tape recorser. These machines indeed are great show pieces at home while providing absolutely top notch music and speeches. I still have some old speeches by Betrand Russell, Mao tse tung, Hitchcock and even some of Rohana Wijeweera's earlier speeches (I am sure not many new members would have heard his earlier ones - he was not a racist as far as I know) etc. Other than that I have lot of music basically recorded from LPs. I guess its an eternal hobby.
Early 30s make sense I am sure not many 20 year olds would understand what R2Rs are. I am unable to explain what these machines for the youngsters and they would look at the machines as if them were taken from the attic. Well, it kind of sums up the story. But here in the UK there are still lot of interest in the R2R decks as of the analogue technology. I have a few friends who still use these machines at their studios for sound recording e.g, those guitar sounds.
HGB,
I did watch the 'Passage to India' by Lean long time ago in the 80s, other than the theme I cannot fully remember the storyline. I remember Alec Guinness was there wasn't he? and most of the Indian actors as of the storyline of the colonial British era. |
