Malli Dr.Akai
I thought of telling who is behind these names,
since you or anyone seems to know the answer.
Here are the answer:
1)Robert Zimmerman = Bob Dylan
2)Richard Starky, who played with Eddie Clayton Skiffle Band in 1959? = Ringo Starr(Beatles)
3)Thomas Jones Woodward = Tom Jones
4)Gerry Dorsey = Engelbert Humperdink |

Brother Thilagam,
Great to hear from you as usual. I think HGB & Tck did the nosedive on Ruwani nangi on Gunasekara pedigree there.
Now here are the answers for your questions, hope they are correct:
Here a some questions to you?
1)Robert Zimmerman
The unmistakeable 'Blowin' in the wind' man Bob Dylan
2)Richard Starky, who played with Eddie Clayton Skiffle Band in 1959?
This is the Beatleman Ringo Starr
3)Thomas John Woodward
The Delialah man from the dragon country 'Tom Jones' where ladies throw their knickers at him where he goes bonkers :-)
4)Gerry Dorsey
Another Ladies man 'Engelbert Humperdinck' Please please release me. Oh my god he's a clever crook isn't he?
Need a quick answer from whoever who is faster! Hope I am as faster as you are.
Its good fun. In fact do you know that I like all of those you mentioned and have old tapes. I am sure HGB must be pleased to know about Richard Starky. I think he likes his stuff!! In fact HGB loves old songs thus his handle 'Hellogoodbye' by the Beatles.
HGB,
I am doing good mate as usual less complaining when wine kicks in and I go bonkers.
How's life doing for you? Any plans to visit good old sunny isles?
ML,
Mate, I didn't know that you are from Maradana Tech, nevertheless something said that you were reading for a PhD so guess you on the way out now. If so keep it up mate. Never mind Maradane Tech, all the goons have to come from somewhere. Ruwani nangi will know more about you when you start talking about your PhD. She's a good old Bishopian after all.
Tck,
Poor Ruwani nangi must be trying to search her Hubby's family tree on E G Gunasekara. |

Hi Penn,
My Father was a charlton Heston fan
( ben-hur), so do know few old movies.
Wow, he must be a classic biblical fan then. 1959 produced William Wyler's Classic. You have to love Charlton Heston. He's a legend. Talking of great actors, he also acted in 'Ten Commandments' another classic. In the 1950s there were few good movies including 'Bridge on the river Kwai' in 1957 where some of the shootings took place in Sri Lanka in Kithulgala where lot of people have seen the Bridge. The film was a classic by David Lean who also directed 'Dr Zhivago' a russian romantic tale. Perhaps you have seen it, screened in 1965.
David also directed 'Lawrence of Arabia' in 1962.
By the way Penn, what inspired you to call Penn? Is it because of Beatles? I mean Pennylane?
Anyway good one!! |
