verginity is of utmost important to me and i damn respect it a lot. that is my personal view

Being a Kandyan myself, I dont blame you for that view, cause they brainwash you from the beginning of your life.
Generally MEN use virginity as a tool to victimize women after being great sinners themselves for their whole damn lives :( :( :( :(

	Priyanthy, Its typically Thosai day. Maybe if there is a chance nanum oru thosai potruven! Boss doesnt cook meat on fridays so no mutton curry. I dont complain since i dont like to starve!

So the debate has really caught fire. Thats good.

here is my take on it. it probably a combination of a lot of aspects. Culture , religion , beliefs arising from these maybe, our own interpretation who knows. even God maybe confused!

let me give an example.
way we grew up we respect our elders (always an anna/acca/aiya etc) whereas in the western culture there isnt any equivalent. these are good things IMHO from our culture. now lets look at something else. Love marriages NoT accepted. WHY. asked my parents, their answers werent convincing enough. so arranged marriages was the way to go. when arranging its basically an union of two families and so I guess they look at every nook and cranny to satisfy whatever they are looking for.

one of my cousins love affair was broken up by the family. spineless dude!! another married and had a kid before anyone knew! so there you go left extreme to right!

i guess with Love marriages getting more accepted and DUDES making decisions instead of parents most likely this wont be an issue but I must TELL you there are STILL a LOT of DUDES out there to believe in the old ways! will play around but dont like their wives to have played around.

remember lanka is not a welfare state so the dudes were kind of dependent on their parents for financial support till they get a job But ITS not an Excuse!

ofcourse the world has traditionally been male dominated. even here where the female population is a bit more than the male population (Thank god!!) there are more males in politics, engineering etc. maybe in yrs to come this Might change.

	meenakshi Aatchi = petticoat govt! is there a sinhala word for this! yes i remember we used to celebrate with fireworks and everything. Its basically another day here. not all fridays but if we have thosai its on fridays. beer and thosai not exactly a good combination but hey got to manage with what we have!
