I started working today, feel a bit lazy after all these days being home. Well, I will be back to my normal routine(at work ofcourse) in a couple of days.
I came to my office after some heavy lunch, we have some nice reataurents around here have lunch buffet. I went with some office mates to a chinese lunch buffet and returned to my office.
just poped in to my office computer,trying to come on line in between the official and unofficial work.
So you liked the baked salmon? why not try baked salmon, steamed vegetables with some hollandaise sauce?
We make at home puttu, thosai,Iddly, Uppumaa, thengai sambal(both red and white)sambar, iddiyappam, hoppers,milk & egg hoppers are my favorite., sometime kottu rotti too.
Btw, weather in Thalainagar is not promising,last night we had rain and it started raining today, gloomy and depressing weather.
Are'nt you at Uni? do you get enough time to pop in
in between your classes? thats good.
btw, I wont get pissed off for your SwedEnglish, here in sweden we say 'Svengelska'.
You seems to like oldies(tamil songs)?
What did you have for lunch?

Don't take me wrong. But tell me how do you guys cook salmon? Only thing I do is put some salt, paper olive oil and bake it. How do we get that Asian taste?

Malli, there are many ways you could make Salmon to diffrent dishes.In Scandinavia the Salmon is Salmon!
In Sri lanka we use to call the Salmon in cans is infact Mackeril in conserved cans, am I right?
1) Salmon in big slices sholud be with salt or herbsalt,peper,dry or fresh dill to garnish, some smashed garlic and spred it all over the fish,toped with olive oil or vegetable oil.Put it in the owen( 175 c) for about 45 minutes, Voliá! ready to eat with cooked or baked potatoes.If you need sauce then you should have some Hollandaise sauce.
2)Salmon in Sri lankan style. Big chunks .
1 choped onions 1 big choped garlic, 1 choped tomatoe,cumin seed,corriander seed, Red chilli (strong) powder, paprika powder, salt,oil(not olive oil)curry leaves, Rampa leaves.
heat the cumin seeds and corriander seeds in a pan without oil, and ground them properly,its a good smell when you grind them.
fry the choped onions , garlic,curry leaves,rampa to golden brown and then add the choped tomatoes and fry them in a big pot for awhile. Add chilli powder, paprika powder,salt, pownded cumin seeds and coriander seeds.Then add a little water and stir them, reduce the heat to almost lowest and put the slices of Salmon inside the pot and cook them in low heat. Do not use spoons to turn the fish! Salmon fish might go in to pices if you do that.
Lift off the pot and cirlcle the pot by your hand, in this way Salmon get all the sauce all over and will be intact.
Voilá, that is Sri lankan style Salmon with Rice nad Parripu or any vegetable curry.
