Need some info? I might do a surprise visit to Toronto next month (Halloween treat for my aunt and uncles)what I need to know is beside shankar and Co if there are any other good places for Audio/ Video. |

Welcome back. Nice to see you and thanks for al the humorous stuff. Thought you were busy with the elections over there :)
Were you a boarder at FHL or you were there with your family?
Thambi Bonggo, No I was not at all busy with the elections.
Btw, My parents lived there in the 40's and 50's. House at FHL belonged to my father, he gave to my brother,my brother sold it it to my sister.
My parents left to Matale in the late 50's and my uncle lived alone there and had some boarders.
My brother moved from Matale in 1962 to FHL, and myself in 1965 .
My brother, my uncle and I used to live there in the 60's and 70's during that period we did rent the first two rooms to some medical and charted accountancy studetns.
My sister still owns that house at FHL and has rented out to some doctor family.
Please do inquire about us If you ever go to 27FHL.

if there are any other good places for Audio/ Video.
the place i typically go is IRAA supermarket on eglinton (near 2611 eglinton ave if you do a search on google maps) eglinton/falmouth.
its the first shop as you enter from falmouth cant miss it.
beside the shop there is a door that goes upstairs and you get a audio/video shop there.
depends what kind of stuff youre looking for.
we typically buy the DVD (songs) 50+ and its cheap.
eglinton and Midland (NW corner) you have Aingran but the stuff is too damn expensive.

wow remember those names, markam, don valley, finch hope I am not confusing with Vancouver Sts..
Its been ages since I drove that side..ok another q..what is the best departmental stores/ or malls for me to get gift certificates (I have 3 teenage cousins). Do they have JC Penny close by say Markam Vicinity? |

I dont think there are JC penneys in canada!
are you talking about the town of markham or the road.
in the town of markham there is a huge shopping complex at Mccowan and Hwy7. its called markville mall.
mccowan and 401 is where the scarborough town centre is. a huge complex.
usual places are there, sears, bay, gap etc.
yes the streets you mentioned are in and around toronto. Don valley parkway is also known as 404 north of the 401.
you probably know this but the roads are in a grid like pattern. very easy to find your way through. |

nice so I will be driving on 401 east, so probably hit the mall on my way I will do a serach ..yes doesn't Don valley take you to Richmond temple ?
If so I should go say hi to the iyer who orchestrated our wedding.. dont know if I can do all that in one day... |

Penn,
don valley palkway (DVP) (north south hwy) becomes hwy404 north of the 401 (east west hwy).
on the 404 major mackenzie exit heading west then north on bayview will take you close to Richmond hill temple.
while heading to the temple look for the gunasekera household (easily identifiable dude he'll be holding a camcorder never leaves home with out it!) and wave and tell him Tc says hi,
