Thilaham Anna,
Sri Lankan housewives have a hand in the invention of steam engine.
I am happy to say that when they invented the 'puttu bambu' to steam puttu in the olden days, it laid the foundation to design the 'steam engine.'
Some scientist has observed the steam coming out of the puutu bambu and used the same principle to invent the steam engine. Ever wondered why the steam engine looks like a puttu bambu? |

Shisya,
there is another version of the steam story.
europeans in the 1800s realised the capabilities of steam and invented the steam locomotive that drove the industrial revolution.
Not to be outdone We invented Puttu & strings!

Dear Thilagam,
No worries buddy, Kassippu is not many people's special. Because of its dodgy preparation people always talk about its repercussion thus put away by it.
I used to drink during my uni days back in the 80s alot. Now its a rarity as I am travelling to many countries where we only find whiskey and vodka etc. So I'm kind of Smirnoff drinker than Kassippu.
By the way bro, do you like Golf, I play sometimes with my buddies but its time consuming.
regards
