Do you know the Ambani and Bawas?
Ambani family and Bawas were my neighbours at Fountain House Lane,ofcourse I knew them especially boys from Ambani were my friends too , we used to hang around I mean almost every boy at Fountain House Lane were friend with each other. We used to go for movies and after the movies had dinner at Saraswadhi Lodge or Greenlands.
Mr.Ambani (father) was the founder member of Metropolitan Agencies, who was then sole importer of Canon products from Japan, they were mostly dealing with typwriters during those days.
Ambanis boys are Chuki, Mahesh Lalith, Deepak, Bipin
Bipin was the eldest in boys and they had two elder sisters too names Usha, and other ones name I do not remember.
One sister was a medic student and other one was doing law or charted accountancy if I remember correct.
I have met the Ambani brothers in 1977 when I came for holidays from Sweden, that was the last time I met them.
Do you know the Ambani and Bawas? I've forgotten Bawas first name, I think they were two brothers ,I am not sure.
There were lots of boys in Fountain House Lane during those days.Sometimes we played soft ball cricket in that Lane of ours.
If you know the Ambani(any of them) please let me know which one of them you know personaly.
Have you been to Fountain House Lane during the late 60's?
Yes I knew the chinese families too, they had a chinese shop at Slave Island if I remember correct.
Do you know the Newton Pereras sons. and former colonel Mathisz sonns and daughters, Sinnathamby family, Pararajasingham family. Guneratnam, De silvas?, and Blosoms, and many more all lived at Fountain House lane.

Did you mean the cricketer selvaraj Perumal played for Tamil union?

I used to visit the Fountain House Lane in the 70's and until recently when Bawa's sold the house.
I remember only Lalith among the Ambanis. I also know Kiruba (lived in the upstair house of Ambani). The senior Bawa worked for Hayleys and had three sons. I used to play cricket there too in the 70's.
Do you also remember Carlton, Kanjibuksh and Haja (the last two lived in the first house). I suspect you lived in no. 07 Fountain House Lane.

Yes, I knew Kanji Box(that was his nick name), and his brother Hadja used to work at Buhari hotel in Fort.
These two brothers were old Zahirians at Maradana.
Hadja is a fighter typ, always protected us from the trouble makers, Hadja and Carlton had very good contacts with a Maradana thugs those days, one notorius gangster was the name of 'Chopey'.
I know Carlton very well, Carlton has brothers and two sisters, Percy, Kumar, Mala( was married to Mohan De silva), and I do not remember the names of another brother who went to UK(next eldest brother) and the little sister.
Mr.Newton Perera OIC, Police at Maradana was their father, who was one of the coup maker in the 60's to topple the Government with the Army,Navy and the Air Force, unfortunatly he was caught among others and served the jail terms. Carlton's mom was a nurse at Colombo General Hospital.
Well, Bonggo Please tell me who you are, I think we must be knowing each other in some way since you have mentioned Fountain House Lane.
Well, I've lived at Fountain House Lane no.27, does that ring any bell?
Dont be any secret of yourself, mail me, so we could communicate and talk about lots of other things.
Do you beleive me that I 've lived at Fountain House Lane?
