Hi Thilagam,
I often listen to Led Zeppelin, especially John Bonham's drum solo, Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix especially when I am in Rock mood.
sometimes I listen to George Zamfir(Pan flute player from Hungary) music especially when I wanted to be in a quite and calm mood.
Have you ever listen to his music?
How are you doing?
Well, I am not really familiar with Led Zeppelin except my husband is bit keen on listening to them. In fact he likes most of the 70s and 80s music from which I get familiar.
No, have not listened to George Zamfir. I guess you probably like Stones then and bit of Bowie too.
Do you like jazz and soul music? I am not very keen on soul but like a bit of Jazz Ray Charles (actually was influenced by my dad). He likes Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Jerry Lee Lewis etc. I would not say I dislike them but perhaps they are not my strong favs.
But on the contrary I like concert music by Glenn Miller, Colin Davis etc. Bit of Gilbert and Sullivan, Edward Elgar (enigma variations).

This win by the Thomians really showed that they were the better team. In the big match they were ourclassed noy by a better team but by the umpire Dilshan de Silva. Dilshan was not on the earlier panel of umpires as constituted by the elite panel of umpires Asoka de Silva, Tyronne Wijegunawardena and Peter Manuel.
Dilshan at thr request of Master-in-charge of cricket, M.A. Rauff got his name on the umpires list through another anti Thomian umpire, Boteju and thus 'engineered' a win for Royal when according to coach Ranil Abeynaike no less than 7 decisions went against the Thomians. This is how Royal win 'Big Matches' .
As for interuptions by the Thomains let me remind short sighted and those Royalists with a apoor memory that at least on two occasions in 1984 and 1992 it was the Royalist invasions that prevented the Thomians from winning. that is why. for 15 long years the Royalists could not win the big match.
God is on our side, remember.
The Thomians like good citizens pay their school fees and are not parasites depending on other people's taxes to send their Colombo 7 kids to Government factories(so -called schools). Royal College like the Royal family has gone to the dogs! |

Now, regarding your VCR was taken & dumped without even getting a penny? Well that is so sad.
As you know everyone has a habbit of collecting or preserving things, no need to have any financial value on that item, but a emotional value.
I knew in the 70's people dumped their blac& white TV for colour TV, likewise with ordinary and electric type writers and other items like computers in the 80's with 250 MB hard disk.
I have preserved items like electric typ writers, blak & white TV, VCR,even a computer with 250 MB, MS-DOS
Dont get me wrong, What I meant was one person garbage could be another Man's antique.
Have you seen a Sotherby auction in London or any parts of the world?
Well, do you think you could get hold of a HMV-Gramaphone from a normal music shop?
These things could be bought only in speciall antique shops, People preserve these things as part of their memory.There are thousands and thousand sof people all around the world collect antiques and these kind of goods, perhaps not to sell sometimes but to keep it with them as well.
I saw once in the TV the first Cambells Can Soup and baked bean from the 30's was auktioned in New York, you may laugh, but there are people out there to pay any amount to get get hold of this 'Garbage' as you call it.
I saw once a Sri lankan has advertised in the Internet looking for a morris minor & May Flower Car(both British made)from the early 50's,he would pay any amount to get hold of them, another American has advertsied looking for a T-Ford. My grand father had once this T-Ford, that went to the junk yard in late 40's,(my mother told us), Imagine if this car was still there at my birth place Matale, this american would have been lucky to get hold of it.
People collect things, we are not talking about a rotten piece of meat or something to throw in the Garbage.
One Man's food is another Man's poison? or should I say one Man's food is another Man's Garbage?

Friends
Yesterday afternoon I had some difficulties in sending replies, there was a red allert stated that I was using inappropriate language and if multiple attemts account would be terminated, Why this server behaved this way?
I never used any bad or vulger language, can anyone explain this.
Today it worked fine, first I was scared to send any replies thinking they would terminate my account, Wel, now it seem working fine.
