Radaw,
He is very much a no nonsence umpire to be honest. He made some decisions against SA (vs India ) that caused anarchy too. Bret Lee's case, is slightly different to Murali's.Lee doesn't bowl no balls all the time, so it is difficult for an umpire to judge. Jeff Thompson said every quick bowler chucks when they bowl extra-quick. The point is, when one chucks regularly, it would be easier for an umpire to make a decision. I am sure all the umpires were talking about Murali before he was no balled by this man.
Reverse swinging, some say it is an art some call it foul. When ball started reverse swinging for England during the ashes it was ok. If that happened to Pakistan they are cheats. We know Pakistan team were guilty of ball tempering several time. But so is Mike Atherton
Reverse swing is not something that happens in the scale Pakistan did it last week, when the bowl is only half it's usable-age. The difference is, Atherton used dust from his pocket and caught, he accepted and he was charged. Waqar Younis was caught on camera when he captained, clearly damaging the seam but at the press conference, he denied it, making everybody laugh. Historically, they have been doing it but hardly accepting.
india and Sri Lanka also play good cricket, West indians are that quick bowlers but why only Pakistani's reverse swing!!I think Pakistani's have a case to answer. It takes a man to bring these issues bypassing all the gentlemen thing and courteous stuff in Cricket to the forefront. Cricket needs Hairs. |

Jills,
West indians are that quick bowlers but why only Pakistani's reverse swing!!
Because they cheat most of the time. By the way, I can bowl reverse swing too without ball doctoring of course. |

Dear Thilagam,
Diana Ross & The Supremes were a fantatic all girl group, belongs to 'Motown' sound from the 60's from Detroit, Michigen. Lyrics were written by the legendary song writers Holland-Dozier-Holland(they were all AfroAmericans).
I am glad you like this kind of music.
May I ask you if your dad was a musician in Colombo?
Hi, How r you today?
Yes, I like some of their songs 'Baby Love', 'Chain reaction' and 'When you say you love me' etc. I saw a portrait of that Lady, Diana Ross she still looks fab, cannot believe she is in her 60s. No wonder people like my father like her.
No, my dad was not a musician but a close associate of late Mr C T Fernando, if you like him. In fact My dad and uncle CT have gone to similar clubs in the 60s and 70s for drinks and other things though uncle was very much older than my dad.
The reason I asked you whether you were a musician is you are very knowledgeable about these things.
regards
