An understandably disappointed South African captain Ashwell Prince said his team had never given up hope of winning the second test even when the home side reached lunch on the final day needing just 19 runs for victory with four wickets in hand.
'I told them that, if we could take a quick wicket after lunch then we could take the last three for less than ten runs,' Prince said following Sri Lanka's dramatic 1-wicket triumph, just the 11th single wicket win in test history. 'I told them that we would fight until the very last run had been scored, and that's exactly what we did.'
'With all the rough out there and with Murali and the last man (Lasith Malinga) to come, we really believed that anything could happen, and it nearly did for us. The guys stuck it out superbly,' Prince said. |

Enjoying my stay in Sri lanka even though bombs are going off almost everywhere. No one seems to be bothered & life is back to normal within a few hours. Seems like everyone just dont care bout the war & are more interested in getting on with life (especially with the Cost of living being so high). Good victory for Sri lanka & hopefully they will carry the good work into the onedays as well. Hoping to go to Giritalle for the weekend w/ a few friends.

Kamani akki is this a mistake or for real?
When Prince gets princely he cannot remember which one is which, typical of those princes.
Btw, so you r nearing the expectation, that must be really exciting. Btw, dear be ready to keep up the requirements (possible late night wakings, sleepsless nights etc.), but that is all part and parcel of the new guest :) |

[A case of kiss and a slap:

Bush, Manmohan, Aishwarya rai and Sonia are traveling n a train. The train goes through a tunnel and it gets completely dark. Suddenly there is a kissing sound and then a slap! The train comes out of the tunnel. The women and Manmohan are sitting there looking perplexed. Bush is bent over holding his face, which is red from an apparent slap. All of them remain diplomatic and nobody says anything.
Sonia is thinking:
These Americans are all crazy after Aishwarya. Bush must have tried to kiss her in the tunnel. Very proper that she slapped him.
Aishwarya is thinking:
Bush must have tried to kiss me but kissed Sonia instead and got slapped.
Bush is thinking:
Damn it. Manmohan must have tried to kiss Aishwarya. She might have thought it was me and slapped me.
Manmohan is thinking:
If this train goes through another tunnel I will make another kissing sound and slap Bush again. |
