Hope is the essence of life.
I am one person who had been stubbornly rejecting many requests for migartion abroad. I live in Sri Lanka and work abroad.
When peace returns I am sure we all can meet in Sri Lanka.

Bonggo,
and more on 'kadhu/hills', there's a another saying in Sinhala, 'Ballek biruwata kandak pathwnenne naane'- That's something I keep in mind when I come under personal attacks in this forum :-)). Can't compromise on personal intergrity just becuase some people lack self-respect.
Btw, Junior member is missing again. :-(

Hi Shanika,
This AG poition is imposed on me by the Shishya the Great!
I was in my deep meditation when he imposed his will on me. Guruji's shoes are too big for this commoner.
Hope he returns from the Himalays very soon.

Yes, I know our pradana Shisya can be a bit persuasive :-)). But he has the ashram's best at heart and we have complete faith in his choice !
Do not worry about the shoes being too big for you. Besides, it's good to take a break from meditation and live among mere mortals (like us) for a while. :-))
I've got to go now-work beckons :-)) will catch you guys some other time.

The Ashram is in full swing,
Bonggo, Kula,Shanika, and Kamani,
Seem to be the only people who are regular devotees here.
I have to confess, that I'm getting addicted.
I have to mention that Bonggo is keeping all of us amused.

Hi Bonggo ayya, uncle Kula, Shani and Pluto,
I think we Sri Lankans are a fabulous bunch of people just because we follow different political views it disseminates a lot otherwise we share the similar jokes, love and entertainment.
Bonggo ayya, I have to take your phrase about 'Kandak neggoth.....' thing into Buddhism too. Buddha mentioned about the 'atalo dahama' it says if you are at a bad period you'd be followed with good, so on about other factors insult and praise, loss and profit, infamy and fame.
But the most important thing is the correct vision of life (samma dhitti) which leads to many other 7 avenues that Buddha has taught in his 8 fold pathway (aarya ashtangika magga). I am sure most of us like pleasant happy life and share a joke or two and why not :) |
