-------Controversy- Netball player caught urinating on the court------
By our Dinamina sports correspondent.
Ashram netball Goal Defence and a former Maradana captain, Prince says the wee incident involving a player is being blown out of all proportion and people should leave him alone.
Fairplay, current Wanatamulla club coach said it was a 'storm in a teacup' created by a group of players within the team.
An Ashram Netball reserve player, was caught short in front of thousands ahead of Saturday night's Netball game. Moments before the start, television cameras caught a brief shot of a player on one knee urinating on the netball court.
'People are trying to make an issue of this . . . it's nonsense,' Kamani said.
Ashram Guru his holiness TC said he didn't notice the incident until it was replayed on big screen LCD yesterday. Lula, knife tucked under his belt was present at the briefing.
Red carded naleen was spotted peeping through a wall.
Another player Ananda95 said people relieving themselves was common in other sports. In April last year champion British runner Paula Radcliffe 'apologised to the nation' after taking an emergency toilet break in the course of winning the London Marathon.
Ashram women trustees Shanika, petijo and others, who witnessed a similar incidents at school Netball games, were disgusted that such public urination was accepted in major sports event like this.
On the contrary, Wing Defence kulakottan said 'You don't see netballers peeing on the court before a game . . . and if you urinate against a wall in other countries you can be arrested,'

Kamani, ananda, petijo et al.
Sorry, I was immersedin the game and had to go to the Airport. French connection was cut off by the Italian Job. Prince ws partially right.
France played better but they could not score goals because of the Italian defence, especially the goal keeper who had a couple of spectacular saves. So it was France's forwards against Italy's defence and the Italian job won the day. The penalty awarded to France was undeserving too.

Bonggo,
I am surprised people still talk about weak points of Naleen. This kind of pin pointing only weakens any chances of him being reinstated. If you didn't know, he is fighting for a reinstallation. Of course he had a weak side like anybody else, but wouldn't it be appropriate to leave him alone so that the administrator could perhasp see his better side?
You said,
Naleen,
For a guy who fought JVP tooth and nail, this should be child's play.
But I thought he was a balanced guy as some pundits on the forum keep utterring.
Or does the balance mean, 'bash JVP, state media and the government and sympathise/give a hand to, terrorists'? Not that it matters to me, but you are highlighting a weak side of the boy, where he prefers to be called a 'balanced' person. |

Jills,
Yes you are right. I was referring to extreme views of the JVP which Naleen criticised. There were some so called JVP supporters who were subscribing to extreme points of view.
Naleen was fighting extreme views of both sides but succumbed to an extreme expression himself and paid the price.
You must not go to extremes in your criticism as well. Edited By - Bonggo - 10 Jul 2006 08:43:46 GMT |

Bonggo,
Naleen was fighting extreme views of both sides but succumbed to an extreme expression himself and paid the price.
You must not go to extremes in your criticism as well.
I have spoken about Naleen a lot now so before somebody gets the wrong impression about my view on him, I will stop it now.
But one last point;
I am afraid Naleen had a a obnoxious way of expressing his opinions. He was going to crash at some point, judging by the rate at which he was going. He had a vocabulary that was irritatingly silly, but he never learnt. For example, he always called president Motta Rala, which is neither funny nor annoying, so why keeps saying it?? He hated the state media under the present government, by which he got a few things wrong. He ran out of decent words and went on to use very vile terminology towards the end of his term.
I suggest he apologise to the administrator and assure him not to use snappy terminology again, and I am sure the administrator will consider his apology for reinstating. He's resorted to the wrong technique, which is to threaten the administrator and to campaign against him with mates. I think this may be the best advise one could give him and I am trying to be very fair here.
About me, I am afraid, I can't accept your advice, I do not indulge in extremism. If you haven't noticed from my writings, I am very much against extremism, which often appear in the form of terrorism. |

Bonggo,
Further to my last posting, I have nothing to do with the government or the president, I was only pointing out what the person in the subject was doing wrong. Yes there are others who call all sorts of names to Ranil and Chandrika and many others as well. I am only talking about what went wrong for Naleen here, and this's perhaps my last posting re-Naleen. |
