Hi everyone, has been busy week w/ cricket, football & what not to follow. I was watching SL Murder England the other day & saw a banner which read ...
' England You May beat Portugal but not Sri Lanka'
Unfortunately they did neither. The english football team to my thinking is a bunch of talented but good for nothing players. Their (former) captain was to me a over rated player hyped by the media.Beckham should never have led the team in the first place. I hope they give the captaincy to either Steve Gerrard or Michael Owen. Rooney might be the golden boy (as per the coach) but he should be told that talent alone does not guarentee anything & more importantly he has to get his attitude in order. His foul on Christian Ronaldo was unneccessary. As for the coach I dont think he did anything spectacular with the team.
I was hoping for a France- Protugal final. Zidane / henry played well. However, I think it's Italy-Portugal with portugal winning 2-1. |

'stationed' in a country which says 'apa Khabar.......'
Hi Shanika akki,
what does apa khabar means? I asked Suresh and he said it must be chupacabra (that is the way he spelt it). He said like your bro-in-law. What is he talking about? anyway if it is something bad don't listen to him. He sometimes doesn't know his limits.
take care |

Captain cool,
Where is our football captain? We must get the team together for the semi final. The way we sent Brazil home was excellent.
Midfielder should be Tamilcankun and Dr. A. Kai. Let Prince keep the goal as he has a good knowledge of players and is very good at leading from behind.

To me, without Brazil and/or Argentina, World Cup has lost its dazzle. This is one last round, I won't bother very much about. |

what does apa khabar means?
must be some special buriyani with cadju!
i tell you its getting more and more difficult to get straight answers.
how do you do in a language spoken just north of your shopping country is my take Ruwani.
do you shop till you drop !
coming to soccer i prefer Portugal to win. the other 3 have won it and when you have a 43 yr old (Figo) leading the team who came out of retirement and a 21 Y/o emerging superstar its got to be fun.
i take it Naleen is Back! |

In 1996, Germany always had the upper hand. For eg, England did score more goals in the first round but Germany didn't have any goals scored againt them. Also, England depended on the home support a lot.
But today England are a better team with much better players, yet a silly mistake and their inability to score penalties (as ever)cost them dear.
In this final, France has Henry, probably the best in the world and a few other top class players whereas Germany are heavily depending on their captain and the massive crowd. |

Guru,
You missed a once in a lifetime experience. From the beginning I knew it was coming :) My aussie colleague told me that he stopped watching Aussie Rules Football and switched in to see the best 35 over match he has ever seen.
'It was rather like watching highlights.'
Jills,
You are spot on but the fact is Jaya scored his 21st century in the 21st Century! |
