TCK, How about 'ROYAL RAP' as a name for the CD. We've crossed teh century lets go for the one year mark. Dont see why cant especially with All the Rap, Baila & Jokes being turned out daily.

| TC, thanks machang, actually the inspiration was our very own Naleen and also Fairplay's kids. Wanted to see how we can update and communicate important ideas without sounding stuffy and didactic. I'm really a rock n roller, I like loud thrashing guitars, but rap is proving to be a pretty useful medium. When I head out to Brooklyn I come back with a bag or two of inspiration. ;) |

Now the boring stuff: Marxism and its relevance today.
Whether Marxism is relevant for today or not is not the question. In the late 20th Century, when the West is mentioned, Marxism was often used as a weapon aginst it. Those guys (and the girls) did not realise that this Marxism was a product of this same West. Reasons:
1. Marxism originated in the West.
2. Karl Marx who was born in Germany and and lived in Capitalist London, envisaged his theories based on the happenings in the newly industrialised world, namely Western Europe at that time.
3. Marx predicted that the revolution will take place in the Capitalist world, because of the existing conditions (bourgeoisie exploiting proletariat bla bla bla)
4. The revolution happened in an unexpected quarter, something Marx himslef would have disapproved (read his early wrtings against Russia).
5. Capitalism did not 'whither away.' It might one day but not as Marx envisioned.
6. The 'Communist' state never existed as Marx would have liked, a State without a leader and where 'each gets according his needs.'
7. 'The history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggles.' Partially true.
8. Bla bla bla ..... yawwwwwwwwwn ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz
However, for the oppressed proletariat, Marxisn deems them as the 'chosen people.' They have nothing to lose but their chains so ...
