Now is that a good enough reason to support terrorism?
My bro-in-law must be having the same kind of fear from skin heads but that doesn't mean he supports those who hurt the Canadian economy or those who try to kill Canadian people. |

Ananda,
We participated in few dramas in Nalanda
Excellent my friend. But I left school in the middle of 80s. So we may have not seen.
Where did you have the drama's held? Is it near to the place where you have a big gate to the Campbel Park exit? Those days the the hall was building. Good old 20 odd years back I am talking about. |

Yeap. I might know you. I am few years junior to Gurusinghe and Mahanama but was there in college when they were playing
I have the same feeling too. I would not ask your surname but I know someone Naleendra from Ananda and that could be you.
Never mind. Do you have some connection (relative or friend) to Nawala near the Kotte MC? Perhaps then we might have met back in the early 80s.
Yes, I remember when we lost to Ananda by 7 wickets with Thenuwara grinding our batsmen with 7/19. I was little concerned about our record by Yohan Gunasekara 8/31 but Thenuwara was denied I think. In 1982 both teams had real class players with Dharmasekara of Ananda and Deepal De Silva of Nalanda, we also had the allrounder Keerthi Ranasinghe but it was a totally one-sided match when Thenuwara started drubbing us. I think that was one of the worst defeats we had in the history. But since then I am not sure whether there was a game without a draw.
Mr Epasinghe was a Nalandian so was his son studied quite junior to me. Even Palitha Perera's son studied in Nalanda but not sure whether he played cricket.
I remember one classic drawn match I watched in our own grounds(may be in 1983). It was with DSS. DSS scored 331/3 dec. with Aravinda scoring 150 NO and Malik Alles scoring 66. Nalanda replied with 378/8 at close with Mahanama hitting 201. Those days a school double hundred was a real feat. |

Are you referring to Roshan Mahanama or Devaka Mahanama? I thnik it was devaka because in 1983 Roshan would have been 15 at the most.
