Nadesan was not a simple ?cossa? under ASP Chandra Fernando. He has many links to left politics before 1983, while serving in Colombo, may have some understanding of what he talks about. He married a Sinhala girl. I guess she is from a Nananyakkara family from south, may be from Kamburupitiya

Whatever said the article gives us the true picture and it reflects the immaturity of GOSL team.
Geneva was for negotiations on CFA and not to accuse each other.
The full text of IGP's speech is full of accusations starting from 1974.
No one is worried about what has happened in the past and no point discussing them too.
Look at the future and find a viable solution acceptable to all parties. If no concrete proposal is put forward by GOSL then allow the tamils to have their own administration.Come on look up beyond all differences!!

Hey Waruna,

Unlike your IGP, Chandra Fernando, Nadesan manages a discipled, efficient and non-corrupt police force in Eelam.
You sound very jealous. Your entire police service is involved in criminal activities, bribery and torture. Haven't you read the recent US state department report on the SL police force? If I were the IGP I would sack the whole lot, mate.

BTW, SAS is Special Air Service of the British military. SS belonged to the Nazis.

Hi Guys,

We must be prepared to learn from any one if we want to progress.

SL police force is terribly corrupt owing to poor salary like other public services, wrong recruitment procedure, hasty recruitment, ethnic conflict with progressive violation of human rights, greater opportunity for bribe taking, poor motivation and training, selffish and greedy superiors, wrong promotions and more importantly severe political interference and the political system.

Gone are those days when there is only one SP for the entire division and 5 DIGs for the whole country. Now every Tom Dick and Harry is an SSP or a DIG. In some places there are no chairs for even the DIG. It is like Ministers without portfolios.

Higher and higher they go more and more bum sucking they have to do to hold onto their positon. For an IGP all he is intersted is to become an ambassador once he retires. So they are at the mercy of the politicians.

A police officer has to depend on a political goon to make a strictly police decision. There are several instances where thugs and goons virtually run police stations and tell them what and what to do. Sothy Upali was one such person who ran police stations. There is absolutely no respect or regards for our police force in the minds of the ordinary law abiding public.

In a situation like this we should admire what Eelam police chief says and the objectives of modelling a police force for the region. One should have clear objectives, respect for rule of law, concern about the public, and the police force should be designed as a civil force to guide and lead the public rather than an armed force intended to threaten them.

Please call a spade a spade, there is severe defect in our police department and the question is whether we could correct it?

'?It is frightening to think that the country has been ruled under emergency for so long that a whole generation of Police Officers have grown up with no knowledge perhaps of the normal law of the land. To them what was extraordinary to an earlier generation is the norm?.

Who is this nadesan to advice the GOSL team who had qualified proffessionals..?

He was a police constable in the SL police , by having a police constable as head of ealam police , just reflects the standards of this bogus police force..

For a police contable you need only to pass eighth grade ...

What a joke is this ???????????

A person who has only grade 8 pass ,trying to find fault with GOSL negotiation team.....

these are the people who reprsented LTTE delegation...!!!!!!

Yet another indicator that the Tamils are providing healthy opposition to the Sinhalese dominated Administration of Justice
