Buddhism is a great religion but when will our leaders ever learn that it is a bad move to mix religion and politics?
Integration should be the key word in running institutions, organisations and solving problems. Integration of races and religions. Better late than never. Don't forget that today's Sinhala-Tamil problems are due to short sighted policies of Lankan leaders of the 1950s who did not heed integration but wanted 'Sinhala only'policies that isolated the minorities.

Vimukthi,

i dont really think LTTE is worried about the US coming into Lanka. there was another thread about IRAN where another reason was given for the outburst. US is pretty much dug into Iraq.

what the LTTE is concerned about is how the IC would look at them and wants a clear message from MR to the IC. thats probably a good reason to go to Geneva. LTTE has its plans and otherthan short circuiting it by offering a fed solution its going to turn ugly.

TC,

of course the US is not going to be sending troops to SL, I don't think even the GOSL wants that..the US will have to face a war in the south as well as the north in that case...

my point is rather that the LTTE is completely dependent on the IC (led of course by the US), because all the funds for the LTTE comes from expats in western countries...if these countries decide to pull the plug..the LTTE goose is fully cooked...

as a result LTTE policy is increasingly being dictated by the whims of the US State Dept. and not the lives of poor Tamils in the NorthEast

VP was well on his way to launching Eelam War 4 in December and January when he had to rewrite his script after the US scolded him.....

All religious institutions, throughout the history, involved in politics in one way or another. So there is no harm in monk entering politics. They can do a much service if they genuinely serve people rather than amassing money like other politicians. They can become a part of the ordinary masses rather than becoming a different species in the society as other arrogant politicians.

But these priests are trying to gather votes by cultivating hatred towards the Sri Lanakn citizens who speak another language and who believe another religion. If they do not accept, this country as a multi religion and multiethnic country and it is not owned by any one else other than the citizens of the country, by entering politics they will bring more chaos to the society.

The good thing is that ?sanga sasna? will disappear and the most important thing ?Dhamma? will remain for ever.

Dear VIMIKUTHI,

Now the sri lankan government is in front of the international court in Geneva under the name of Geneva talks and you can't escape anymore.
You should accept the truth that is giving back immediagtely these two provinces of traditional homelands of tamils under federal system. There is no more jokes.

United states will certainly force you all indirectly with various methodes to accept this last solution of federal state tamils within the soverignty of Sri Lanka. why can't you accept the model of India like in Tamil Nadu. There is no harm if these two provinces are colled as Tamil Eelam .What is wrong.?

Remember what has happened to ast Trimore in Indonesia

If sinhalese people refuse to accept this last solution the final solution will be like in East Trimore and that is the one you are all accepting and willing to take.
