Who says,
1. Monks dont bribe.
2. Monks doesnt need the luxury of MPs needs
3. Monks can actively take part in development process.
4. Monks can take care of their community well than MPs because Temple is a common place where community meets!
Ha... Ha...Ha... Hoo... Hoo...Hoo...
Buddhist monks are supposed to have given up all the worldly things(Materialism).
But, many Sri Lankans have witnessed the following,
1. Monks tying pirith thread and blessing people
2. Monks expect people to worship them
3. Monks in employment
4. Monks doing business, handling money, and having Bank accounts.
5. Monks adopting customs, habits and lifestyles like normal people.
6. Monks printing, recording and selling magazines and Bana cassettes.
7. Monks growing hair and making themselves attractive.
8. Monks living in boarding houses instead of temples.
9. Monks having secret love affairs.
10. Monks having luxury cars and vans, employing drivers.
11. Monks forming trade unions/associations.
12. Monks taking part in racist politics.
13. Monks supporting and encouraging war.
14. Monks following Mahavamsa as a guide
15. Monks preaching their own Bana instead of Buddha's Bana.
16. Monks healing sick people with pirith water.
17. Monks calling Sri Lanka a Sinhala Buddhist country and preaching Bana only to the Sinhala people.
18. Monks criticizing and condemning all other religions and races and creating communal hatred among Sinhala Buddhists and others.
19. Monks taking part in protest rallies and burning flags and effigies.
20. Monks taking part in fast unto death.
21. Monks eating non-veg food (Meat and fish).
22. Monks drinking alcohol and gambling, buying instant lottery tickets.
23. Monks having illegal intimacy with women or young boys.
24. Monks watching movies.
25. Monks using the latest mobile phones.
There is no end, the list goes on.
Did Lord Buddha ever tell the Buddhist monks to engage in the above mentioned activities?
Most of the Buddhist Monks do not even follow the 5 basic moral principles (Pancha sila) what Buddha has preached, and some idiots in this forum are preaching Veddhi Bana. Edited By - LuLa - 15 Feb 2006 20:17:55 GMT |

This is a last warning to all these sinhalese duplicate political parties not to engage anymore these third class bouddhist monks, one of the worst culpritis in South East Asia for their anti-tamils propagandas in their respective parties instead of teachings of bouddhisms to bring peace to live all together.
Pulling out these bouddhist monks from the temples like bafflos from cattle sheds in Spain for the benefits of these sinhalese racists political parties ( UNP,SLFP,JVP and JHU ) means inviting two separate nations in Sri Lanka. One is Tamil Eelam run by most educated, talented, uncorrupted and experimented tamils administrators and one is in the south
Sri Lanka of Duttegemunu run by fully corrupted sinhalese leaders.
The time is runnign for sinhalese people to correct themselves from all these mistakes. Or Mr.rabhakaran will teach them how to live. |

Religion and politics mix very badly as can be seen from examples all over the world - the Taleban, the Vatican, the Republican Party in the USA, the BJP in India.
MOdern society requires the separation of temple/church/mosque/kovil/synagogue and state. We no longer live in isolated kingdoms. We live in complex multi-cultural societies. The State cannot be partial to anyone on the basis of their religion or ethnicity. When the State does act in a biased way that is the path to civil strife.
The JHU represent the right wing monks among the Buddhist clergy. There are many monks who hold very different, even opposite views to those being held by the JHU. Monks are part of the society and they will have political views just like anyone else. Since they are loudest and best organized of the monks naturally thier extremist views get billed as the views of all Buddhist monks. This is a disservice to Srilankan Buddhism indeed. |

| This will be funny... well the 1st time JHU won 9 seats because some UNP buddhist in colombo who was sick and tired of RW and they didnt wont the UPFA in power so they voted for the JHU. their vote was like a protest against the UNP... i dont think they could do the same again... it will be interesting if they do... i believe Colombo Municipal will be UNP, Kotte might be UNP but UPFA will put up a fight so its too close to call, if they come close to winning it will be Dehiwala-Maount Lavinia and Maharagama... i use to live there... some people are just weird... they are very western looking but go to temple not to mention the ass-kissing of the monks. in their word and vote they are 'hardline Sinhalese' but in their doings they are more pro-western then any others... |

Vimikuti,
If you all can't understand tyhe only but final way is demanding Brbhakaran to teach you and you will understand. You don't need to go to United states to get any lesson. |

I think the final solution is approaching now towards Sri lanka that is well defined federal states in the north with the central government in Colombo.
Now the president all other sinhalese parties have to accept and there is no other way for them. Take it or leave it . |

Why can't the government send these monks to rebuild houses and help poor sinhalese people in Galle,Matara regikons badly destroyed by tsunami?
Instead of feeding these monks like pigs in vain there should be an alternative way to use these monks like scouts for the welfare activites and social activites.
State fund should be used for the tsunami affected people but not for these useless bath muty monks.
We can use these bouddhist monks to rebuild the devastated areas in the northeast and nothwest also. But they will not be allowed to take pat in any political activities. |
