TC,

I agree.

Banning the LTTE is tantamount to cancelling all the agreements with them. That means the CFA is no longer valid and that in turn means the GOSL is pulling out of the CFA.

Sri Lanka President reiterates commitment to peace after attack on his brother
Dec 01, Colombo: President Mahinda Rajapaksa says he remains unshaken in his resolve to achieve peace in Sri Lanka. ?The LTTE is known to have carried out such cowardly and brutal attacks earlier, too,? the President said soon after the assassination attempt on his brother, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

They are neither safe in sea nor land, let alone in South.

I have to agree with you on this. SLA will never be safe untill they implement the KRD.

This is no surprise. We are back in the pre 2002 period. LTTE was a baned entity, GOSL did aerial bombing of NE, LTTE did suicide bombing.

What the agreement of 2002 did was give security to the south and people enjoyed the safety. Now they will have to be a bit more careful. As far as NE is concerned there was no security before or after 2002.
