Proposal in the cabinet to ban tigers
Saturday, 2 December 2006 - 12:04 AM SL Time

A special proposal has been presented to the cabinet to proscribe tiger terrorist organization. The cabinet met this evening with President Mahinda Rajapakse and is still deliberating on this proposal.

The Government has been greatly concerned regarding the murders of Luxman Kadirgamar, renowned Foreign Minister, Deputy Head of Govt. Peace Secretariat Kethesh Loganathan and the suicide attempt on the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka. The immediate cause for the proposal to be presented is today`s unsuccessful suicide attempt on Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse.

Further, the mass murder at Kebethigollawa, Habarana attack on unarmed Navy men, Mawil Aru incident too have been taken into consideration for presenting the proposal to the cabinet today.

The Government`s stand is that a terrorist organization that has not shown any response to the peace process but continue with their savage programme of murdering senior Government leaders and officers of security forces being allowed to have free access to the society is a serious blunder. According to internal sources of the Government the President too has taken a firm stand on this matter.

The Government is considering imposing a conditional ban on tiger organization. According to the conditions a guarantee that they would stop all atrocities would be included say sources.

Meanwhile, the JVP, taking into consideration the conduct of the tiger terrorist organization has made a special request from the President and the Government to proscribe the tiger organization and act accordingly.

If the tiger organization is proscribed within Sri Lanka diplomatic community including Norway would have to cease their relations with that organization and any individual or an organization will not be able to have any dealings with the tiger organization. Hence, the decision to proscribe the tigers if taken by the Govt. would be another major defeat to tiger terrorists.

Proposal in the cabinet to ban tigers is for what?
With whom would you like to speak to stop this war?
If you ban tigers, are you ready to withdraw all arm forces from the north and northeast?

Please come out with one clear policy of all sinhalese political parties to meet tamil demands and try your best to solve this war peacefully instead of killing tamils civils .You have no more rights to occupy the whole north and northeast against the will of tamil people and if you persist , you will only destroy the whole nation of sri lanka.

What difference is this going to make? Just another propaganda exercise to fool the sinhala gullibles.

Will it stop the war? No. Will it help the GOSL to defeat the Tigers? No.

The JHU and the JVP will be happy but it won't make any difference at all to the conflict.

Is this supposed to be a threat? It would work quite well for us, so the government would be closing the peace process, forcing out Norway and the SLMM and going back to war all in one fell swoop, what more could we ask for.

Please do it.

All the paper tigers are beating their chests. LOL.

Dudes, this means war, which is not good for any of the inhabitants in SL. This includes tamils too. Sorry I forgot, since you are not in SL, you are not worried.
