Mr Brown,

Shakti,

Thanks for the kudos on the app. If sombody approaches me, i'll think about branding and selling this app. in that case there is a LOT of duct tape i need to clean up. The code looks like my sister's closet right now.

MrBrown

I am one of the first users of Hotmail. Got my address within the second or third month of operation. (Those were the days we paid Rs. 15 for one minute of Internet use.)

I remember the first interface of Hotmail. It was nothing great. Just a little more than a static web page with no sophisticated features at all. Initially a user could only receive mails. Cannot send. Facility to send mails through web was given much later.

So I have observed how hotmail developed over the period of so many years. I was surprised when I heard Microsoft wanted to buy it. It was not such a good application to pay billions of Dollars.

Similarly I have seen the development of Lanka Newspapers software over FOUR years. (My first interaction with LNP was in 2003)

You may call the software is like your sisters closet. I can take any bet, all good software is like that. Software evolves in stages and in the process the coding becomes a mess. You cannot plan an write software. Every good software is a big mess inside.

Fortunately, the users do not have to look INSIDE your sister's closet. If the outer look it fine, that is what it matters. I am sure LNP software can meet that requirement.

If Sabir Bhatiya can do it, I see no reason why you cannot. In every respect I find what you have is an ideal software to be used in international level.

It is not a question of money. There are very few Sri Lankans who have made news in the IT field at the international level. I like few Sri Lankans to mark their presence in the global IT map.
