Heard from some folks here that the Tigers are well dug in.
the ltte is well trained guerrilla force but these days they fight as a conventional army. vakarai falls or not is not the Q but any party keeping it is the big Q. going back to the first is easy and the sl forces cannot win over it.
VAKARAI AND SAMPOOR were important to tigers at one stage because the trinco harbor is between the two to keep an eye on trinco harbor.
we all know the SL navy is so weak and MR is trying so hard to boost the moral of the SL navy these days. it will take so long to rebuild the sl Navy only if they are committed to it.
the point is , vakarai n sampoor do not come that important at this stage because the navy has been weakened by the ltte already and the mission is almost complete.
there is no point ltte going on the offensive loosing men and material while they can directly hit trinco with long range artillery from mullaitivu meanwhile the ltte's naval wing patrol the east!
it will be a concern only if the SL forces started attack vanni!
