| Freelancer, I do not know whether SLA have any plans to capture Mulathivue. Mulathivue is strategically very important location for the LTTE. And it will no doubt put all its men and resources to prevent Mulathivue falling into the Govt. hands. Vakarai it self is very important to the LTTE Eastern operations as Vakarai is currently the only LTTE control area in the East that is directly link to the sea. |

That is the very important point in deed. SLA never can defeat LTTE in guerrilla war. So they should bring LTTE to conventional battle field. By attacking Mulathivu, SLA can achieve much more.
1. Conventional battle field help to reduce LTTE cadre strength
2. Capture of Mulathuvu reduces their naval activities hampering SL Navy
3. Facilitate secured cargo transport to jaffna
4. Cut off LTTE military-hardware supply |

Shan,
There is no need to recruit new. Once LTTE is flushed out from East, SLA can withdraw some from East and North to deploy in Mulathivu. Karuna will be the key for SLA victories in East and withdrawal of forces from East. |

Freelancer, what happened to the IRaqi Army after the US invasion? ALthough the US is incomaprably stronger than the SLA and the IRaqi army the point is still valid. If the LTTE feels they are being drawn into a conventional battle that they cannot sustain they will resort to guerilla tactics. That should be obvious. THis is why the military apprach taken by MR is a total waste of lives and resources. THe LTTE cannot be defeated because they represent for better or worse the will of the Tamil people to be free of GOSL state terror. |

ranaguna, what reasons do you have to call Mr. Anandasangaree a 'bootlicker'? It is because he doesn't support LTTE policy's and political objectives? |
