Let`s celebrate X`mas and defeat evil - JVP

The JVP in its Christmas message issued by its leader Somawansa Amerasinghe, called on the people to celebrate X`mas with determination to defeat wicked forces against Motherland!
The Message said:
`Today we celebrate another Christmas to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christians all over the world as well as those in Sri Lanka celebrates this festival to commemorate the birth of `Prince of Peace`.
Christmas is celebrated this year at a time the human values of love, benevolence, amity and compassion are greatly needed. This is what is yearned for everywhere in the world today.
According to Christian belief, Jesus Christ was born to this world to save sinners from those sins. Christmas is celebrated after 2006 years today at a time when our Motherland is being tormented by the clutches of wicked forces; at a time, that necessitates, more than ever, the liberation of our beloved Motherland from the shackles of those wicked forces and establish dignified peace.
This Christmas would be more significant only if we determine to liberate our beloved Motherland from these wicked forces and establish a dignified peace and spread love, benevolence, amity and compassion among all masses.
Let this Christmas be an occasion that would lead to making our wishes fruitful.

Where is the evil? This is in the mind of JVP fellows..So first they must clean their head before asking others to do so.. |

| Peace cannot be achieved by letting a terrorist group to bear arms. As long as the LTTE bear arms, they kill innocent sinhalese, muslims and even tamils. LTTE has proven this thing throughout all peace efforts. JVP against that,and stands for a true and respectable peace for everyone. But its true that JVP should be little flexible. Evils are not the JVP but the LTTE. |

| This post sounds a bit twee and one needs to be suspicious when religion is invoked to push a message. Christmas whilst standing for peace has always had blood on its hands - whether that be the slaughter of Jews, or the crusades etc. Evil is a word that is emotive and can mean anything a nothing and in the end I do not think that it is constructive on coming to a solution of how to deal with problematical groups. |

| Why does anyone call the present JVP evil,do they send suicide bombers to kill innocent people or abduct children to fight the war,that is raging in the north now? From what we read,JVP advocate unity of one nation and one people and that's not evil.JVP is critical of the corruption in the country and this party is maturing daily as a responsible party and we wish that Karuna too will follow this example and one day lead his people in the east,within a united country. |

Every body calls JVP 'evil' because it is simple truth that they are. If anyone has forgotten 71/89 JVP atrocities, look at the devastation that are causing now. They provoke the war and send others to the north and east to fight their war. They don't die others do. They are preventing any govt. to offer a solution to the tamil people. At the same time they are talking about equal society. They are provoking work stoppage in the tea plantation and cause billions of losses to the SL economy. They call others corrupt but they also go home with duty free vehicles. They have paralise govt. health service a lot of innocent people die. Their leaders are living luxury lives and make ordinary masses suffer. They were behind fertiliser subsidy now the govt is loosing billions of rupees and at the same time the paddy cannot be sold. They stopped privatisation, now those loss making white elephents are being maintained by poor taxpayers. They opposed reform in education now we have tens of thousnads of unemployed good for nothing gradutes. They opposed to IPKF now our people are dying and momey is spent on the useless war.
In short, JVP is evil because it is preventing SL developing and people living a better life.
JVP must be banished to Cuba or nort koria. |

Have they forgotten the evils committed in 1970's and 80's.
Has Somawansa forgotten the gold he stole from our nation?
The Hypocrites... only in a country like Siri Lanka they can survive. |
