Germany freezes aid to Sri Lanka
Monday, 25 December 2006 - 9:53 AM SL Time

The German government has frozen aid to the Sri Lankan government until it resume peace process with the Tamil Tiger rebels.

The German minister for Overseas Development, Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, has urged other western countries to increase pressure on Sri Lanka government to restart the peace process.

The minister said in a newspaper interview (with the daily Tagesspiegel) that due to continuing violence much of Germany`s aid to Sri Lanka, especially in rebel held areas, was not reaching the people it was intended for -- the victims of the tsunami of two years ago.

The minister said twenty-five million dollars originally earmarked for Sri Lankan victims of the tsunami had now been redirected to the Indonesian region of Aceh.

Nothing to worry here. If MR can put all our powers together and destroy LTTE once and for all, we might not need foriegn aid anymore..

We should take these challenges positively as they always offer us diferent options

The successive SL governments talk to minorities sign agreements but NEVER honour any of them, some of them are

1. BC Pact in 1957
2. SC Pact in 1965
3. CFA with LTTE in 2002
4. P-TOMS in 2005

Even the international agreements

1. Indo-Lanka Accord in 1987
2. UN Convention on anti-terrorism and money laundering in 2000

Now the president urged the Sinhala army Governor of Northeast Provincial Council to de-merge the NE PC and Tamil official language act never been implemented.

Karuna is given millions and encouraged to kidnap children to train as combatents to fight against LTTE. His wife deposited 25 million rupees in a Colombo bank in Feb 2005, the SL police or the Govt took no action to find out how he laundered that amount of money.

Other Western Governments must freeze aid and go further to impose a trade embargo on SL terrorist state to force it to conform to normal ethic standard.

Tamils are fighting for their lost rights for 50 years, it's time the IC wake up to the crime against humanity committed by SL Government and do something positive.

Astroyogurt, yes they are SUPPOSED to be used in the NE, but they are either used in the south, or most likely used to line some MP's pocket.

So this hurts no one but the people who deserve it, these racist tribal animals who are in power, so good, hopefully the Germans can persuade even more countries to follow suite.

Then there will be a non stop stream of maids to the mideast to meet the fake country 'Sri Lanka's' foreign exchange needs heh
