Thursday, 14 December 2006 - 5:52 AM SL Time

Sri Lanka Air Force destroyed an LTTE artillery piece on Tuesday (12) when it was being transported from Pachchankerni in the Eastern Province military sources said.

From the day these 'prathipaharas' began it has been a case of the forces personnel being only injured in single figures and the LTTE terrosists dying in double figures.

If the total of dead LTTE cadres were added up,upto now the estimated 10,000 would have been surpassed for sure. If actually as the GOSL says the LTTE bank accounts have been frozen with funding curtailed internationally and essential supplies for survival also curtailed and the LTTE is facing defeat after defeat how are they keeping on fighting?

May be for some traitors of our mother land - what they are seeing at the moment is like putting chillie powder in to their eyes. But the bomb of a terrorist has no religion, caste or age.So the time has come to shed their political differences and to unite behind our president and the brave soldiers who fight to make us live everyday. Most of our kith & kin are not involved in the war directly IT is our utmost duty of all above to help our forces in which ever way possible to defeat the enemy.

The importance of this current war is to marginalize the LTTE in the only power base it has; military ability to intimidate. This campaign needs to conclude with attacks on velu's home office, to convey the message that war is now 'total war' and nothing less.

That is where we have been lacking; in not waging total war, when the ltte always has.

Velu is hiding in a bunker covered by a canopy stolen from UNCHR. It is tricky to bomb that.
