Journalist grilled over harbouring suicide cadre

A journalist, attached to a weekend newspaper, is under interrogation for allegedly helping a female suicide cadre, whose recent arrest at Wellawatte led to the recovery of six claymore mines from a hideout in the Mirigama police area.
The journalist is believed to have given the suicide cadre accommodation. Authorities are trying to establish her link with the LTTE. A senior government official yesterday afternoon said that the journalist was among the persons questioned in this regard. `But no arrests have been made,` he said, adding, `We expect a breakthrough later in the day or Monday.`
