The breakthrough was reached after the APRC held 17 rounds of meetings and also carried out a fact finding visit to India to study the Panchayat Raj system which devolved power to the village level while other models were also studied.

India is divided on the basis of language. That is the basis that Sri Lankan Tamils have earned. These small-scale systems such as Panchayat - are a distraction. They already exist in Tamil areas - where we culturally settle our differences. A recent example as in Thunaivi - in Northern Sri Lanka. The dispute was settled through the temple community system. Tamils are religious and they need to know that where man fails God would protect them and lead them.

JHU is protesting against Tamil Australians - here in Sydney. They use the LTTE cover towards this to fool gullible governments looking for a quick fix. But Justice will prevail. We will fight for it.

Swathi,

I have already heard that GOSL have drafted a solution with maximum internal power devolution. Even though all parties and Tamil people would agree, if LTTE will not, it is difficult to achieve peace.

Best solution is autonomous state. Let's implement it with any cost. It's hard to live together with the unstable Sinhala mindset.

Raves,

And the LTTE mind set is.........
Since you conveniently forgot, over 50% of the Tamil population lives in the Sinhala areas.

All parties were invited. But TNA MPs are always agressive, very difficult to negotiate with since they are proxies of LTTE. They can not act their own.

Nice work of MR no??

i am sure he'll know how to respond to the proposals if they arrived in a 'bomb shell'!
he'll creep into his bunker with a head-first dive!

Mala21,

What power for less than 12% of the community.

They can claim for 12% of total power.

Swathi,

Every political party was invited, including UNP and TNA and they both rejected. Of course, the TNA cant tie their shoe laces without permission from the 'boy'.
