We know how the Tamils on Colombo are treated don't you? shot at 8 am in broad daylight, disappeared, registered like Jews with the Nazis, etc., that is the freedom we have from your government.

Aha, I was wondering what happend to all the Tamils who 'used to live in ' Colombo.

Come the 27th I predict a fight to the finish - and the last man standing will not be VP...

Jace buddy, see you have some common sense too, that is all I am saying there is no option but war now, we may differ on who we think will win, but that is the bottom line.

Thanks for the welcome. Personally I don't think either party are willing to negotiate a peaceful end to this war yet. By all accounts this war should have been sorted out 20 odd years back but never was which has left SL in a very large quagmire of its own making. I don't mind people of different areas of SL having self governance - they should have a voice when it comes to development and how the areas they live in run, as after all they are living in those areas. As far as i can see the problem is trust or rather lack of trust between the SL govt and SL tamils.

Revy,
Well mighty Thor, want to show me one crime against a Tamil that has been investigated and actually resulted in an arrest in the GoSL areas?

Proper question should be
show me one crime that has been investigated and actually resulted in an arrest in the GoSL areas?

It's not just specific for Tamils, it's for everybody irrespective of the race..color what ever!!

Yes quite right, but starving them and bombing them daily does nothing to build this trust.

There was clear path of how this trust could be built in the CFA, on how to normailze life for the civilians, but the government never followed through and then the low level fighting got worse and worse.

For sure nothing will come out from this investigation, while most of criminals are among them. As i said before ''the Sinhalese cannot destroy the Tamils, only the Tamils themselves''.

Revy,

I am saying there is no option but war now

This shows that whatever the agreements that UNP/SLFP/JVP/JHU come through that LTTE wants war to begin.

Does it not show that LTTE have no option than setting war scenario to get more fundings for their ailing outfit from the senseless diaspora?

After all the war will begin and lot of innocent civilians die in the NE then there will be more complaints by the pro-LTTE human rights groups to stop war. What is going to happen then? Give up war and get back to bunkers? Even dying Bala admitting killing Rajiv was a blunder what more blunders to unfold?

Exploding claymore mines every corner and throwing hand grenades of course build the trust!
