'The president has directed government authorities to make arrangements for the transport of essential goods to Jaffna by road using the A-9 (highway) as a one time measure,' the president's office said.

It did not say when the supplies convoy would be moved, but added that voluntary organisations and international charities will be asked to help assemble a large fleet of trucks to carry the supplies as a one time measure.


Mahinda has bowed to international pressure.When the GOSL is being hammered for all kinds of vile acts Mahinda seems to be trying to pacify the IC by this action.

Whatever the reason it is good news for the people of Jaffna.
