GoSL must heavily purchase for Navy and Airforce.
Spend the bulk on a few Dvoras with 30 mm cannons, Migs with reconnaisance abilities and ability to carry
anti-ship missiles and guided bunker-busters, a few MI-24 troop/attack helicopters, 1-2 high-capacity planes for troop and armament transfer, and a few high-capacity, fast, heavily armed ships for troop transfer, and amphibious assault ships.
They should also get extra MBRLs and a few more long-range artillery pieces that can be fired safely from protected bases.
Then save the rest to pay off past purchases.

I was asking a few of my sinhala friends in sl what actually the Sinhalese down south want, whether they are for WAR. they all said the people do not want War. it is the stupid politicians! is that right!!
True, The Sinhalese people don't want war. Same time, they believe that the peace talk with LTTE is useless and it will not going to stop the war. So they don't have any option left except fight. |

No!! majority of South want war.They still believe the army can defeat LTTE militarily.Each & every sinhala news papers supporting the war almost all the media.

Some long waited news from the East indicates pockets of leftover terrorists been killed and the abandoned terrorists are forced to swallow their cyanide to prevent capture by GOSL forces.Civilians are easing out to cleared areas.
More good news as specialists from Karuna faction has infiltrated into Kilinochchi and in the surrounding areas awaiting terrorists day speech to deliver gift of life to few remaining terrorists.
This is great news toward eradication of Northern terrorism by counter terrorism.My deepest sympathies to terror supporters on this forum.But before you blow your heads please wait for the confirmation from Tamilnet in some form.
Quite possibly Tamilnet might say tactical withdrawals by the Northern Terrorists to Northern Sri Lanka.
Oh.. and the defense budget explains what in the shopping list for anyone who believed in just speculations.
